Longing and suffering? Of course, of course. You want it to mean something.

she can feel herself  shrinking  against the background of her store.  part of her knows that he is speaking  more  to himself than her.  sara  had never been one to open up  â-  especially about the centuries of ghosts in her past.  but  he  was different.  he could feel her heart turn to stone in her chest, weighing down heavily against her rib cage.   he made her chest hurt.  sara could see the  waves  of sadness ripple from his shoulders like a dark  and  angry  ocean.
â   i  think it does mean  something.  in itâs own right.   â  sara knew more than anyone else that lonliness was a   beast  in itâs own rights.  some nights it could tear the flesh from your bones.  â   i think itâs important to recognize them.  theyâre some of the most powerful motivators in our history.  the longing for what we canât have  &  the suffering we feel at knowing we will never get it.  i think it drives mankind  mad.   â
