woke up in the middle of the night SWEATING thinking about how tucker got done so dirty in restoration. you make tucker the fucking meta and nothing is done with it??????????????
“come with me.”
okay and actually like. like i do think restoration is a simulation but that’s also so fucking funny because. sigma started going at him like wow your simulations are pathetic and epsilon was like. oh yeah??? well what if i simulate you being a nasty little bitch and getting your ass handed to you huh. what then.
also can we just talk about how fucking funny restoration makes the 13 finale. “you can’t see the ending you just gotta have faith that it will turn out okay” *.000000000002 seconds later* “yeah so i need to simulate all possible endings. faith? uhhhh sure i have faith in them. now let me insert myself into this situation so i can guarantee it turns out okay”

i think the thing that bothers me the most about restoration as much as i think it is a good ending for the series & also everything with tex was perfect no notes, is that almost none of red team made any sense? like why was grif so angry for the first half. why didn't sarge say that line that burnie mentioned being the first draft for his death speech, like why tell me that way better dialogue if you aren't going to use it?? hell i think i wouldve preferred if sarge's death did a callback to s1 and just straight up lied to grif that he was his son like his original death plan.
but most egregiously the reds give a fuck about blue team and the other characters. hell in s6 sarge hesitates about leaving wash and church to be by themselves at freelancer hq because he still likes them. in s7 grif takes one look at caboose stating he needs to go to the desert and realizes caboose cant do that shit on his own and just goes yeah ill come with. s8 sarge finally understands red vs blue was a sham and his military career was a lie and offers to help caboose. arguably simmons is the hardest red to switch over to helping blue team because he only does so when it directly benefits himself or out of spite (as in s4). it just makes no sense for the reds to walk out on caboose like that when we had everything from s6 onward showing how much that is not the case beforehand! bro throughout chorus sarge and tucker are like bffs for some reason and it's such an odd dynamic but its hilarious and makes sense for the characters at that point in the story. like sure i can see them not questioning tucker disappearing but it feels like itd make more sense if they were like at least somewhat horrified or jarred by finding out Tucker Is Being Overtaken By Rogue AI. or like having any reaction at all to that. instead of ambivalent sure i guess i'll help reaction
and then i havent seen anyone not be deeply confused by like everything with wash
god there's a lot of flaws in restoration but it finally giving tex an ending makes it worth it for me. "everyone else always knows what's best for tex" is the one line that resonates in tex's story to me because it was so repeatedly true. even after she says that just a season later epsilon decides it's best to forget her. not let her make her own choices. he decided what was best for tex once again. but restoration gave her a chance to be someone she could never have been in any other incarnation as the failure epsilon and the alpha remembered her as. her being brought back by someone else for once - caboose of all people, finally let her have a chance to tell caboose what she actually wanted, and let her have a chance to rest. there's also a world of difference between your ex bringing you back a fifth time, vs your final incarnation being brought back via the human embodiment of a very loyal golden retriever that caboose is. she was finally brought back in a way that didn't remember her as a failure. and if i think about her asking caboose to end the cycle that every church incarnation kept perpetuating for too long i feel sick. she finally had to say goodbye. i feel unwell
Happy pride to the one month anniversary of the grimmons divorce
