QOTD: What is your favourite summer book? “On the island of By-the-Sea you could always smell two things: salt and magic.” Mine is Summer of Salt, this is an incredible atmospheric and magical novel that follows Georgina and her family who live on a strange island called By-the-Sea. Her family own the only Inn on the island, and ever summer a large groupé of people they call birdheads visit the island in search of a special bird they call Annabella. She flys to the island every summer to lay her eggs, except this summer she is missing. This book also explores some darker issues, about rape and rape culture throughout the story.
