I have to admit that this was by far my favourite of the trilogy! The friends to lovers (not once, but twice!) meant that the banter and the tension were incredibly amped up, and the smut scenes reflected that. I loved how the fluffy cuteness could transition into steamy spice without being awkward. The characters well well-rounded, and I enjoyed the exploration of their past relationship, as well as their current one, and I very much liked that while the inheritance played a part of the story, it wasn’t as much of the main focus, unlike the last two books. I also have to admit that I loved that both the previous couples made appearances in this book, as it felt like it tied them together nicely. The discussion around substance abuse and the road to recovery was, for the most part, handled incredibly well. However, I didn’t agree with the fact that Cal seemed to be so focused on making Lana his reason for staying sober; I feel like the book would have benefited if we saw a bit more of Cal doing it for himself, rather than her or the inheritance.
