Bin Cage Layout Plan - Rough Idea Sketch
So my husband and I have been binge watching a lovely YouTuber (ErinsAnimals) and getting all kinds of inspiration for not only the bin cage we are currently working on, but also a diy cage build we plan to do once we move out of this apartment and into a place that's a bit more permanent.
This sketch is what we are going to do for the bin cage once we get some good bedding to fill it (we're stuck between a good Aspen bedding or some paper bedding, but we'll leave that decision up to our paychecks later this week, since rent is also due soon π©)
For now we will be transferring the toys he currently has into the new cage to make the change a bit easier, and then slowly introducing a few new toys/items as we go
A quick update and emergency involving Loki (he's fine, the emergency is more for his habitat).
Bit of information, we brought Loki home yesterday after getting him from a co-worker of mine who got him for her child and it turned out to be a bit too much for them. I volunteered to take him because I didn't want the poor thing being tossed aside (as I'm sure my coworker would have done π)
So before we brought him home, my husband and I brought a large glass aquarium (I forget the actual measurements, but it was pretty damn big) to the apartment to set up for his home, but it had to be more thoroughly cleaned than we expected, so we had to let it to dry longer than we were hoping while Loki stays in the unfortunately small cage we brought him home in.
And then my GSD jumped up to inspect our table (please read as onto the table) and as the table is rather unstable the aquarium was knocked/rocked off, only for it predictably break. Thankfully the dog is fine, more scared than anything, but we are now down what was a very large (and expensive) habitat for our new tiny friend.
We're currently looking at storage container homes as a possible holdover until we can get (or build) another, sturdier large home for him.
But in case anyone sees the cage he's currently in, please know that it was not intended to be his actual home (at least not now that he is our new housemate)

The newest member of our family is Happy! I got her on the 14th of January and she is the cutest little fluff ever. She is a Russian dwarf hamster and is cream and white, with little light brown markings on her, and the brightest pink eyes Iβve ever seen. People that know me will be aware that description is what my dream hamster looks like, so when I saw her tumble out of her bed I knew straight away I was taking her home. I gave her a quick cuddle before the journey home, and she kept trying to burrow and sleep on me which was so cute. Pictures to come!

Here is all the babies!!! 4 wild colour(3 boys 1 girl) and 3 pearl (2 boys 1 girl), and they are 19 days old now! (16 days in the pictures and 19 in the gif!)
The pic of them all together is NOT their home but a temporary place we put them to take photos and clean their real enclosure!
