I have been watching this TV drama called SKAM and I wanted to ask you, my Norwegian fellas. This "Rus Bus" thing is real? Do every teenager participates in? Could you please tell me more about it? Warm hugs from Mexico! (please send ice I'm literally dying, so hot)
russebusser is very much real, unfortunately. not everyone participates, but it is quite popular. it used to be just smaller vans with like 6 people in each, but now having a huge bus where 25-30 russ go together is what’s Coolâ„¢.Â
The Russebuss
I’m pretty sure we (hopefully) wont get a clip of the girls checking out the Russebuss today. Skam experience tells us, that when they make specific plans to meet up over text, we wont see it (we will just know it happened and it’s a part of their day).Â
And I seriously don’t want to spend too much time on that bus, when we don’t get to see it anyways (Pour salt into the wound much?).Â
I think the point of dealing with the bus thing, is because Sana really changed her attitude towards it, when her brother told her it was problematic for her to do, because she’s a girl. That triggered something inside of her, and she is now just as eager as Vilde about the russebuss. It’s not just fun partytimes for her, it’s a statement. When someone tells her she can’t do something because she’s a muslim girl, she wants to do it 200% more!
did you see the girl's expression or better, the grimace she had on her face after sana asked "how much do you guys want for it?"? yeah, these are the kind of things a girl like sana has to deal with everyday. she has to deal with being judged for how she dresses up, for wearing the hijab, for her religion. she is labelled by appearances. she has to explain that she can do certain things even if she's a muslim. but guess what? she shouldn't have to! like every person in this world shouldn't explain why they want to do things and are interested in certain things. and the girl's "yeah" after noora said "yeah. sana is on the bus as well." was even worst. that sounded like "for real, she's on it? she, who's like that?". tell me again this season isn't important. even the smallest mop can mean a thousand things. this is not only addressed to what a muslim girl has to face everyday, but this is also addressed to being, in general, judged by the way you look, the way you dress, the impression you give at first sight.
