So, I downloaded some running/tracking apps this week.
And after a little help...
u can live-broadcast on @RunKeeper if u upgrade to Elite. $40/yr or $10/mo, worth it!
Same advice. Runkeeper has some super versatile tools built into it.
I decided to try RunKeeper.
I've only been using it for a few days now, but it seems ...ok? I don't really know yet actually. It’s weird to ask people to follow you. But the few friends that I did convince to download the app and follow me haven’t been able to see the live tracking? I hope to try again this weekend when people aren’t so busy.
But aside from the live tracking function, there are a lot of things that I do like about it so far:
I can plan out my own routes and follow them.
It nicely integrates my Spotify music (not just itunes).
There is a clear “Sharing” button. So I can choose when to share my running location. Another friend suggested Runtastic, which also has a live tracking map that you can post to Facebook. My only (but kind of huge) gripe with this app is that they make you choose “Never” or “Always” for sharing your data. So if you’re a paranoid freak like me, you’re forced to go through your Privacy Settings every time you want to use/not use the app.
