Levi gasped awake. His head hurt as the bright sunlight spilled into the room from the window. He looked around and found himself in his room. A frown pulled at his mouth as the feeling of ‘something wasn’t right’ settled on his shoulders. The sounds of the city pulled his attention to the window. He leaned over to find himself looking out at the city from an apartment window. He had a sharp pang of nostalgia at the sight. That feeling of wrong was growing. A hand on his shoulder had him startling. He whipped around to find Tad looking at him. “Is everything okay?” Levi stared at him in confusion. “What…?” Tad let a chuckle slip out, and Levi couldn’t help the flutter in his chest at the smile that followed.

Tate gave a dark chuckle, “I welcome them to try. If they’re smart, they’ll keep me as far from Levi as possible. But I’ll take one extra wolf, not more. You don’t need to be stretched thin.” He looked at Rhea, who was clutching her phone. “Celest was on the phone.” Rhea jumped, “Oh, she’s on her way, just boarded a plane and should be here tonight.” Kevin sighed as he looked at the ceiling. He quickly pointed at Tate, “No arguing!” Tate lifted his hands in surrender. “Don’t worry, don’t plan to cross her path.”
