Pacing is obviously one of the hardest lessons to learn in a marathon. It bites back so hard if you don't do it right. Glad you still enjoyed yourself! You got some great pictures in there too.
It really does! I think I'm just so used to hitting those paces for a shorter distance that I didn't really think long term over the race. I knew I wouldn't be able to hold those paces but I didn't think I would have a significant slowdown.Â
I've never had my calves cramp either so I really had no idea what to do when it happened! I'm not sure what I will be able to do about that in the future so I'll have to do some googling. Maybe salt? Or maybe, yaknow, run at a better pace?

Reading your recap makes me want to do it again. Don't tempt me!

You loon!! :D I love it! Sorry that most of it felt like hell, but, you know, runners wouldn't be so crazy if it didn't HURT SO MUCH! :D Love you. Love this. SO PROUD! And dang, lady. Kick. Ass.
Runners are the craziest! It didn't feel like hell until mile 20is but of of course, those last 6 miles somehow felt like half of my race!

Our calves should be friends. They'd probably be really... tight. Congratulations! Your pictures turned out great!
This comment made me literally LOL.Â
