I kinda wanna write a cobra kai/karate kid time travel fic where Hawk finds himself in the 80s and is all like "man wtf" and he lives sorta alone for a few weeks because he's like lost af, then he meets Mr Miyagi whose all like "boy wtf" because why is that obviously karate-trained kid living in the street all alone and then they go "dude wtf" together before skedaddling merrily toward the plot of the karate 1 movie and boom voilà the time travel becomes a fix-it situation or something
Aemond is literally 16–17 years old in the show, has never seen true battle in his life, and his first actual kill was an accident that he very clearly regretted. he is a traumatized teenage prince with one eye, a nuclear lizard, and the emotional support system of a wet napkin. and mind you, for someone who has mostly fought from dragonback, he actually does a fairly good job. his sword skills are insane for his age, his discipline is better than half the grown men around him. so when people mock him for getting stabbed in the back or caught off guard, like… yes? that is the point? he is inexperienced. stop bullying him for being exactly what the narrative made him.
