Was picking at a semi-smutty pre-tadpole mini fic for Ellie before and opened it back up again because I finally had a beginning in mind. It also gave me a reason to make more Elugan (it’s being workshopped lol) VP smut. Though I’m not sure how much can actually be posted anywhere 😮‍💨

A drink at the Elfsong.

That’s how it started.

One decent job that provided more coin than usual. Enough to justify a drink that turned into two, then three. Until the cheap whiskey stopped burning down her throat and the taste of it instead lingered on Rugan’s tongue.

After that came rough hands, bare skin, and a rented room upstairs that smelled like smoke and old wood.

By morning, they’d both agree it wasn’t a thing. Just two people who needed a warm body and somewhere to sober up for the night. But at the mention of another drink at the Elfsong, she would eventually find herself outside the same rented room, turning the knob that was never locked for her.

It was…convenient.

That was the word Ellie wrapped around it at the end of every night spent next to him.

It was practical, at the very least. There were worse ways to spend a night. Worse people to end up beneath after too much whiskey and not enough sleep. And Rugan didn’t ask questions she didn’t want to answer, never expected parts of her she had no intention of giving.

And in a dim-lit room and enough drink, she could almost pretend that having someone in pieces was easier than needing them whole.

Round 1 — Match 59 / 77 — Sauceman Chorizo vs. Rugan

Sauceman Chorizo is the cook at Sharess' Caress in Wyrm's Crossing during Act Three.

"What an excellent name. Chorizo is peak as fuck. I wonder if he picked it or was born with it. 2. I love a loyal man dedicated to his husband. “I just work here” vibes to the max."

vs.

Rugan is a human Zhentarim agent who can be found trapped in a cave on the Risen Road, desperately trying to fend off  Flind's gnoll pack.

"Can't resist him. I always have to mess up his operation, not for the loot, but because I want to save him, because I NEED to hear him call me a beautiful bastard."

"OK so Rugan is one of those NPCs where you can literally feel the branching consequences hovering over his head. if you let him and olly take the chest back themselves, it’s like… cool, he lives, you did a Good Deed, everyone’s mostly fine (as fine as “Zhentarim fine” can be). but if you start doing Tav Things - taking the chest, negotiating, getting greedy, opening it, ANY of that - Rugan’s life becomes a horror compilation. you go to the hideout and he’s tied up getting punished, olly can be dead, zarys is doing the “you disappointed me” routine, and suddenly this random guy you met in a cave is paying the price for your curiosity. and the worst part is Rugan is genuinely kind of likeable?? he’s snarky but not obnoxious, he’s scared but still trying to keep it together, and he’s got that weary competence that makes you want to help him even if you don’t care about the zhents at all. plus the whole chest situation is such a perfect act 1 temptation - “DON’T OPEN IT” is basically an invitation. sorry rugan. the narrative made me do it."
