You mentioned full faunus earlier does that mean their are half faunus? And if so what are they like and how are they treated?

Yes, there are half-Faunus. They are the same as full Faunus, but only have a single animal trait like Faunus in CRWBY-canon because they have one human parent. They are treated âbetterâ than full Faunus by humans, but they still arenât treated very well. Half-Faunus suffer more from micro-agressions like âYou arenât, like, full animal, like those savages.â and âYouâre more human than beast.â And unfortunately, there are those in the Faunus community who donât think the half-Faunus belong. If youâre âprivilegedâ enough to be accepted by the humans (see also human-passing Faunus like Ilia) then you wouldnât truly understand what it feels like. It is very much a light-skinned/white-passing parallel.
We have also introduced a butterfly Faunus. He is an OC and a part of our Vacuo team that weâve worked hard on. No spoilers, but weâve also introduced the romanticization of Faunus who are âprettyâ and easily consumable by humans. These Faunus suffer from micro-aggressions as well. âYour wings are so pretty, can I touch them?â (already touching them) and âWow! Youâre so beautiful for a Faunus.â
When we decided on the full Faunus and half-Faunus idea, we quickly realized that the half-Faunus would likely suffer from the same racial discrimination as mixed folks in real life, and weâve been drawing from our own experiences regarding this. This is something we want to handle tactfully.
