#ruby romano oc

i just finished my first session of crooked moon!!

i shall introduce the cast. we have:

Tricks, the sinner rogue witch doctor. Ruby’s first impressions of Tricks is that he’s strange. He’s smart and dangerous when he wants to be, but seems to deny the fact that he’s dead/he died.

Kells, the grim harbinger cowboy. Ruby thinks Kells is cool. He seems friendly and Kells is straight forward. He can respect it.

Letosa, the twilight cleric azureborn. Ruby’s glad to have her. she seems nice and friendly. gives off maternal vibes.

T.H.E.O., the robot kid paladin. Ruby must protect this kid with all that he has. this kid is so damn cute, and Ruby will not stand to see the world corrupt this kid.

Renata delmonte-Blackwood, the (secret) vampire noble barbarian. Ruby’s off put by her presence. he doesn’t understand why she’s here. they were all summed by Lord Druskenvald, so why would he call a high class woman to come do his dirty work. something feels off.

Tricks and Kells were on the train first, followed by Ruby next. Ruby, being a resident of druskenvald, took it upon himself to inform his new party members that they were probably dead. they weren’t in hell but they’ve come to a place between life and death. Ruby (i) made the poor decision to visually represent the visual planes with his hands, the material plane on the top, hells on the bottom, and us in the middle. “So you’re telling us we’re in a sandwich?” “you’re telling me we’re the roast beef in this sandwich?” -tricks

Ruby’s Major Arcana card is the moon. the dm pulled three for Ruby, and his is basically summed up with “you may be impulsive, down on your luck, and angry. but it’ll get worse.”

when fighting the ghost train, Ruby was a front fighter. bad mistake. the fire aura thing bit him in the ass but he was tanking most of the damage. and right as we defeated the engine INSIDE the train, Ruby fell to one Hit Point. of course, i have to make a dexterity saving throw as Ruby is being thrown out of this train, down a hill. I pass!!! those who fail take 2 points of damage. those who pass take 1 point of damage.

But! i didn’t fall into death saving throws because right as Ruby is falling down a hill, he levels up and regains health equal to the max health he gained! huzza!!!

Ruby then gets ran over by the train and loses all his remaining health. he crit fails his first death saving throw. and then Tricks (who could have helped Ruby with his aasimar feature) opted to run away and hide outside of the train’s blindsight
