Ruby sighed deeply as she started walking to her house after a night shift was over. She just wanted to go home, relax, maybe watch TV and cuddle up to Rex her German Shepherd puppy she got a year ago. But just as she got closer to her place, she sees police tape and a couple of cars there. Ruby was confused and walked over to one of the officers. "Um excuse me may I go through? This is my home," she said. The officer looked at her before lifting the tape up and guiding her in. A while later, once she was inside Ruby saw the carnage. Her books were thrown off the shelves, her glass table broken and she sees most of her electronics, like the TV and her stereo was gone. "Rex," she said to herself as she goes to search for him, but she got into the kitchen she gasped as she sees her friend's body on the floor, dead. But he was brutally tortured as he had cuts deep and most of his organs was on the ground out of him. Ruby threw up in the bin near her kitchen entrance before another officer guides her out. Luckily, it was only her stereo and TV that was missing. Ruby didn't really have much taste for jewellery or fancy cars. A few months passed and Ruby was putting flowers on Rex's grave and her mother's. Her father wasn't in her life, but from what she can remember, he couldn't due to his 'special job' that he had to do and her mother never heard from him again. Ruby was busy fixing Rex's grave that she didn't see a man walking up to her mother's grave to put flowers on it.
