"I'm not here to impale you, Regina," Ruby sighs, crossing her arms over her chest. Of them all, that was never her place. She may have never stooped anywhere close to the former Evil Queen's level, but her hands were still far from clean enough of innocent blood to play the role of righteous leader. "No pitchforks, no mob. Just me. But can you really blame people for being wary?" Twenty-eight years of deception - nevermind all the years of her reign of terror in the Enchanted Forest before it - was a long time to come back from.
Wolf. Ruby's nails bite into her own skin at the name, but she doesn't take the bait. Instead, she watches as Regina rises, keen eyes tracking her around the length of her desk. "Whoever's doing all of this, then - they've been targeting creatures. First it was just me. We thought maybe it could be someone who still bought King George's frame job, and I can handle myself just fine, but..." Maybe she alone would have deserved it, too, but that's a thought best kept to herself given her current company. "The rest of them, they're all innocent. None of them deserve this." / @starclvster + cont.
