Hi Yulin! Since you seem to constantly be working on multiple projects I was wondering what your preferred method is for keeping track of everything. I'm constantly working on multiple scripts (whether it's just ideas I haven't started or ones in different stages) and I'm wondering if you have an recommendations on apps or tools you use to keep everything straight as you jump between different ideas. I wish I had cool apps and tools! I have friends who keep color-coded post-it notes on their walls for every task and remove a post-it every time they complete a task, which makes for very cool-looking instagram photos every time they finish a project.Â
I'm very boring and non-techy when it comes to creative organization, I just have a small planner where I can list each day's tasks/events and meetings in advance. I live for the thrill of adding a check mark beside completed items. I also have a small notebook I keep around at all times where I jot down and work through stray ideas. Lately I've been trying to keep all my business expenses on one card.
I think the one place I am very organized is with production budgets, I keep a very specific expense sheet on Google Drive for each project, listing each expense and color coding it by department (art, camera, gear rental, post-production, food, etc.) It helps me get an idea of how efficient I'm being with our budget each time, and it's also kind of fun to look at all the different spreadsheets as a measure of growth, in terms of what we were able to do with x amount.Â
