In this bad ending, Reverse kills Rainbow Steve and threatened to kill everyone that Sabre cared about if he didn't play house where Reverse could be "tHe heeEEeErOroOoo"
Veryyy slowly (not very slow lets be real), Reverses mental state deteriorated.
He would drag Sabre all over the world to kingdoms and villages long since rotted with darkness as the steves inflicted with darkness slowly trudged through streets attempting to poorly do what they had done before.
Reverse would keep playing hero as the world rotted as Sabre couldn't do anything about it because at this point he can't do anything (adventure mode :()
Essentially, Reverse is Sabrora while Sabre is boots in that one video Sabre did a very long time ago š

Light Steve is showing more emotions and quirks, and thatās nice. Itās nice to see him being able to help out but also chill while he waits.

Oh
My

Melinda or Mrs. Gate is unnecessarily gendered and amatonormative and heteronormative
BUT I STILL LOVE IT
GATE HAS A FRIEND NOW. AND SHEāS A GIRLFRIEND.

SECRET PASSAGEWAY.
So Darkness isnāt just Darkness? Darkness can also be in the form of curses and knowledge?
******
So the themes so far with Faceless, Reverse Steve, and Orange Rainbow Steve are heroism, knowledge, identity, and self-leadership.
This creates so many questions:
Are curses anti-knowledge? I donāt think they are because you still gotta learn curses to figure out how they work.
Why is gaining knowledge associated with losing your identity?
Why is darkness associated with losing your identity?
And if losing yourself is associated with gaining knowledge and the darkness......does this mean gaining knowledge is associated with darkness? Did Rainbow Quest accidentally write an anti-knowledge story? Well, knowing that something big happens later in season 2, itās possible that RQ is setting up the idea that the more you learn, the more overwhelmed you feel, and the more susceptible you come to darkness, which is very depressing but shows how important it is to be strong and brave to fight the despair you gain as you learn
In Rainbow Quest, we explore two facets of identity. Identity is defined by who you are (the color Steve you are), and itās defined by what you gave up (in the villainsā case, the colors they used to be). What does this mean?
*****
To continue with the themes of identity and self-leadership:
TheĀ āHeroā is a title. Reverse just wants the glory.
The Gate shows that theĀ āHeroā gets all the credit because he barely acknowledges Sabre for helping him.
The stress of keeping Orangeās identity a secret is important because theĀ āHeroā is a symbol of hope to the Steves. Learning that theĀ āHeroā is just a person like them would make them worry.
So basically, the Hero or Rainbow Steve is an Uncle Sam or Rosie Riveter type of character. Someone whose main job is to inspire. Because honestly, Rainbow Steve hasnāt done much in this season.
Additionally, I would like to share with you guys a quote by Lao Tzu, the founder of Taoism,
āA leader is best when people barely know he exists.
When his work is done, his aim fulfilled, they will say: we did it ourselves.ā
*****
Why am I rambling so much about this?
This is because I believe RQ will end thematically if...Orange Rainbow Steve ends up being the last Rainbow Steve,
because it would be good if everyone realizes that theĀ āHeroā has caused more harm than good by existing. That theĀ āHeroā created a culture obsessed with getting the credit of doing something, and waiting around for a savior instead of standing up for yourself.
One person shouldnāt be a hero while everyone else waits for a hero. One person should justĀ actĀ like a hero. EveryoneĀ should act likeĀ a hero.
And with Sabre doing all the pep talks, I feel like thatās his real purpose in being here. He was sent here by a force that realized that the age of the Hero must end and the age of the āeveryone can be a heroā must begin. Sabre must teach these Steves about thisĀ (ignore the awful implication of a foreigner telling natives that their way of life is wrong). Maybe thatās why Red Steve, the Steve of Wisdom, was the first to greet him in this series.

Reverse Steve: Okay, are you like BLIND? You look nothing like me. First off, I'm way taller. Secondly, I DO NOT look so sleep deprived and lastly, if you could drag comb through that hair you're like a 7 on a good day and I've been told I'm a constant 10.
