♦  What’s your character’s favorite way to pass the time?

The easy answer would be “spending time with his mate” buuuuuut we’ll go a bit deeper than that :P.

One of Arch’s other favorite past-times just so happens to be his “official” occupation: cooking! When he isn’t managing his restaurant or taking care of Taj’s ( @rhotanored ) bookstore/cafe, the guy will often experiment with new recipes or go scour the area for other diners/bars/food stalls to see what other culinarians are up to. He also has a habit of searching for the latest cooking technology -- yes, he’s the one who would get excited about a Kitchen Expo. #housewifeman. Besides those two things? The guy loves to fish. On lazy days when there’s nothing going on, Arch will close shop and grab his rod.

♦  Is your character an early bird or a night owl?

Both maybe? Arch tends to wake up before the crack of dawn to train each day, and usually doesn’t retire for the night until later on. When he was an assassin, his schedule leaned a bit more toward ‘night owl’ (for obvious reasons), though he very much stayed active during the day, either to do a job or be social. Back then he rarely got more than a handful of hours for sleep.

♦ What would your character be in a modern, real world setting? I’ve thought about this before! In my mind Arch would be from a good ol’ southern country farm family, but is the rebellious one that listens to punk rock music and smokes in the hallway during school. After graduation he’d go into UFC fighting or boxing as his profession, do successful for a few years but then have to drop out due to some injury. Then? Then he’d probably go to Chef school and try to get his own restaurant going.

♦ Does your character know how to swim?

Yup! Being a swamp rat, Arch has gotten to be a pretty good swimmer and can hold his own in rougher, muckier waters. He won’t be able to match someone who’s grown up next to the ocean, though.

♦ What is an ideal breakfast for your character? 

A glass of whiskey, a cup of orange juice, eggs Benedict and some sausage.

♦  Your character found a strange tonic that smells very sweet! What do they do with it?

Arch would test it first to make sure it’s not some sort of poison -- he’s actually very good with making venoms or anti-venoms! After that if it checks out, he’d take it to someone he deems ‘smart’ and have them figure out what it is.

♦  Does your character have any pets?

Nope.

♦  Does your character travel by aether? Why or why not?

Arch uses the aether to travel when he has to cross long distances, mostly because it’s convenient. If it’s within a small cart ride or chocobo porting distance and his business isn’t pressing, he’ll opt to do that instead. There was a time where aether travel made him terribly sick, but after his master forced him to do it constantly he’s pretty much gotten used to it.

♦  What kind of family does your character have?

A family of strays. The family Arch keeps the closest is his mate, Q’nagali Yehn. After her, there’s his close friends Brannon Bavol and P’tajha Kett and Cilia Frostwyght. The Garlean engineer Kirae Naellanar is also close to him, though her general coldness and air of ‘bitchdom’ makes it slightly less subdued than the other four. Generally, if you’re someone he cares about and has been through hell with, Arch considers you family.

He also has BLOOD family back in the deepest parts of South Shroud that he cares for immensely, but is estranged with them for....a lot of stuff, really...

♦ Is there a place your character has always dreamed of going to?

Arch has always dreamed of going to the deeper parts of the east near Doma. He’s always had a fascination with Doman culture and has traveled to the outskirts of Othard before for some jobs, but would love to travel to the mainland, as ruined as it is by the Garleans.

♦ Has your character ever lied to someone to keep them safe?

Anywhere outside of this town. I’ve lived here way too long.
