Cassian sat next to Jyn, leaning on the edge of the make-shift bed in the cargo hold of the ship. He silently thanked his droid friend. They'd installed a small medical wing in the cargo hold just before they had departed.

He looked up at K2, lightly grabbing the edge of Jyns arm.

“Did you detect any poison?” He asked, fiddling with the rough fabric of Jyns sleeve. K-2SO looked at him;

“I cannot tell.” He started, moving forward to, from the looks of it, scan Jyn again. “I can't detect the kind of serum they used in the dart. It's entirely foreign.”  

“Dammit.” Cassian watched the slow rise and fall of Jyns stomach as she laid there. Completely unaware. Her eyes had grown to be pink with dryness from being held open for so long. Cassian took her hand in his, letting out a long sigh.

“I will pilot the ship.” K2 briefly said before heading out of the room. Cassian only nodded in response, not even looking away from Jyn.

“You have to be okay.” He said, squeezing Jyns hand lightly.

It must have been hours before Cassian woke, Jyns hand rested under his face. He must've fallen asleep . He looked at Jyn, moving a bit of her bangs to the side. He furrowed his brow as she shifted her position. She stirred in her sleep, letting out a small moan of reluctance.

“Jyn?” Cassian let go of her hand, sitting up now. “Jyn you there?”

She rolled over, moaning again as she sat up. She glanced around blankly.

“Jyn?” Cassian reached for her arm, barely brushing it with his hand. She immediately turned to him, flinching away. She stared at him, a dark black expression on her face. Cassian looked confused and pulled his arm away.

“You got shot-” He started, crossing his arms. “I-”

He was cut off as Jyn half leaped out of the bed, landing on top of Cassian and pushing him out of his chair. He fumbled on the ground, his eyes wide with shock. The chair clattered  loudly to the side as Jyn kicked it out of the way. She reached backward as she held her arm to Cassians throat, pulling her knife quickly out of her boot. She held it up, staring down at Cassian with that same, black expression.

“Jyn!” Cassian pushed her arm off his throat, grabbing her armed hand with his. She pressed a knee to his chest, keeping him firmly planted on the ground. “Jyn it's me!”

She attempted to jab the knife at his side, but he knocked the blade out of her hand with his free arm. He grunted, shoving her over and landing on top of her. She struggled against his grip. He held her by her arms. He cursed as he realized he hadn't thought of-

She kneed him in the crotch, and he moaned. His face grew red from the pain, but he resisted the urge to let her go.

“Jyn-” He grunted, shifting his position so she couldn't take another cheap shot. “It's me- Cassian.”

She finally stopped struggling. She was breathing harshly, her chest rising and falling quickly from the force of each intake of air.

“Well, I certainly didn't expect that.”

Cassian looked over his shoulder at the sound of K2s voice, but instantly regretted it when Jyn took advantage of the moment, kneeing him now in the stomach. He loosened his grip on her arms, and she tugged on free, punching him in the face. He fell sideways, a hand instinctively on his newly bruised cheek.

K-2SO let out a sound of annoyance and grabbed Jyn by the arm, locking himself in place.

“I detected a kind of virus in her system.” The droid started. Jyn was punching and kicking him, but it had no use. In any case, it was probably bruising and hurting her more then him. “I was running my analysis while you slept.”

Cassian was laying on the ground now, trying to catch his breath. He sat up, looking at Jyn.

“How do we get it out?”

“Like this.” K2 injected something into her skin, letting go of her arm and looking at Cassian. Jyn coughed, rubbing her eyes and falling back down onto the ground. Cassian shuffled forward, grabbing her shoulders and holding her up. He was still trying to catch his breath. He pushed her hair out of her face, moving it behind her ears.

“Hey, Jyn.” He chuckled lightly as she looked at him.

“Cassian...” She moved forward, leaning heavily on his shoulder. Cassian felt himself tense from their sudden closeness, but calmed himself. “What happened?”

“You were drugged.” K2 quickly chimed in. “But nobody asks me.”

The droid walked out, making his way to the cock-pit.

“I feel... Exhausted...” Jyn smiled, chuckling as she looked up at Cassian. Her eyes were still red, and her face was pink from their little brawl on the floor. Cassian smiled as well, placing a hand on his stomach. He was sore everywhere. Especially in some areas...

“Yea, me too.”

Their were bruises forming on Jyns wrists, and Cassian silently cursed himself. He hated hurting Jyn, but- That wasn't Jyn. And it was self defense. He assured himself he'd had no choice.

“Why do you think... They drugged... me?” She was breathing deeply, obviously trying to act like nothing was wrong. Cassian found her determination amusing, and helped her to her feet. She stumbled briefly on the way to the bed.

Cassian didn't ask permission. He quickly scooped Jyn into his arms and placed her on the bed. Jyn let out a moan of annoyance, but laid down without commenting on the gesture.

“I don't know.” Cassian admitted, picking up his chair and taking his seat again. “Maybe so you'd kill me?”

“Did I-” Jyn looked at him, surprised. “Did I attack you?!”

“Yea.” He laughed, leaning his arms on the beds edge. “Aggressively too.” He let out another breath of pain, shifting his position. “Let's hope I can still have kids, ay?”
