Just a reminder that the Rough Stuff Ramble is TOMORROW, Sunday August 4! We meet at @beaumontmarket at 4:30 PM, ride at 5. This ride evokes the spirit of the @rsfarchive a UK based cycling society dedicated to getting off the beaten path. There’s plenty of “pockets of country” that can be found without leaving the city limits! Expect a 15 mi moderately paced exploration (no one left behind), with a mixture of paved/unpaved, a hill or two, and a lot of places you probably haven’t been to. You may also have to push a bike at some point. Route not a loop and will remain a mystery, but we’ll end up somewhere to watch the sunset at 8:35 pm. Supply up at Beaumont Market, and don’t forget lights and layers. Meet at 6:30 pm at Beaumont Market, 4130 NE Fremont St. Depart at 7 pm Did you know on the day of the full moon, the sun sets right around the same time the moon rises? Let’s head to a location we can see BOTH on this approx. 5 mi ride. Stock up on supplies and libations at Beaumont Market. And bring a blanket, extra layer, and lights for the ride home. t’s time again for one of my favorite types of rides: The Urban Ramble. The Rough Stuff Ramble is a ride evoking the spirit of the Rough Stuff Fellowship, a UK based cycling society dedicated to getting off the beaten path. There’s plenty of “pockets of country” that can be found without leaving the city limits! We’ll be meeting up at 10 AM at Fillmore Coffee, 7201 NE Glisan St. We’ll have time to get coffee and food, then depart after 10:30 AM. Expect a 30 mi moderately paced exploration (no one left behind), with a mixture of paved/unpaved, a butte or two, and a lot of places you probably haven’t been to. You may also have to push a bike at some point. Route not a loop and will remain a mystery, but we’ll end up somewhere near transit and where we can get food/drinks at the end. Wider tires never hurt! Time for a nice Ramble by the Columbia Slough, one of my favorite places in Portland! Winter is a great time to check this area out. 
We'll be meeting on Saturday February 16 at 11 AM at Cafe Eleven, 435 NE Rosa Parks Way, Portland, OR 97211. We'll be here until 11:30 AM, so you'll have some time to grab a coffee and breakfast before we take off. From there, we'll head down to the Slough for the next couple hours. (Bring a snack!) 
The ride is about 20 miles total. Bring a bike that can handle a little rough stuff. Ride not a loop, but will end near transit, food, and beverages.
