Colonial Fiji: the collected chiefs of Fiji ceded their islands to Queen Victoria's United Kingdom in 1874, which established the colony of Fiji, joined by Rotuma in 1881.

Happy Rotuma Day, Rotuma!  Now a dependency of Fiji, Rotuma was annexed to Britain on this date in 1881 (in fact, the local chiefs asked to be ceded to Britain after various missionary groups and their followers kept squabbling and assassinating people).
