"Ooooh, things have certainly changed since last I was here!" Comically large ears wiggle up and down with excitement after getting herself out of that manhole. Look at the lights! The building structures! Why it reminds her of those early 2000 films regarding the sci-fi genre. Those had always been her favorite to watch.

Marnie had gotten a half-sneer out of Odin in response to her disapproving look. Habit. He’d come back inside after smoking…whatever the hell he smokes. Not something she approves of, but she’s not his mom.

Odin didn’t come around as often as Ava did, though Marnie’s house was open to most. Let’s be honest though, she wouldn’t have let him anywhere near her house without knowing Ava’s association to him. She rummaged through the fridge, pulling out a bottle of water and setting it in front of him when he sat at the counter.

The teenage worker drone completely freezes as the question is asked, staring at her mother with an amount of time that would put an owl to shame while holding the large railgun (which she'd just remade, of course) in her arms, holding it to her body like it's some kind of precious item. Which, it is, but still.

After about five seconds of essentially becoming a weeping angel, refusing to move or even break eye contact with the other drone, Uzi stuffs the railgun into her sweater as quickly as possible, before quickly responding. "What gun?"

Jarod trusts Cupid for the moment, if only because he has little other choice.  He knows all about netrunning that he has to in order to get by in this world, and he has a daemon loaded into his cyberdeck that will allow him to halt or accelerate other vehicles, but that’s the extent of his ability.  So, unfortunately, he has to rely on professional netrunners, which always costs him an arm and a leg.

Fortunately, in a city full of heinous crimes, they don’t judge him terribly.  They also have a vested interest in not turning him in, lest their other nefarious deeds get revealed.  Netrunners have as much to hid as they have to expose, and that stalemate works wonderfully in Jarod’s favor.

“All right, if you insist,” he says.  If the only thing he has to do is push a button, he thinks he can manage that.  So, no more standing around looking stupid.  He presses the button Cupid indicated, then steps closer to her screen, leaning over her shoulder to see what it does.  He follows small red lights around with his eyes.
