Misery Loves Company // Zander And Mabel
Zander was driving home, he'd just come back with groceries from the grocery store and man, was it pouring out. His windshield wipers were on the highest speed and it was still barely working. Throughout all of this rain he noticed a girl walking on the side of the road. What is she doing out in this weather? He asked himself, but he drove right past her. His conscious made him stop. He took a deep breath and rested his head on the wheel for a moment before lifting it. He knew that if this girl lived anywhere around his house or heard anything about him she was gonna know exactly who he was and probably run off. It's worth the shot, she's gotta be freezing. He backed up to where she was standing and rolled the window down. And what do you know, it was the new girl that moved in about a week ago. She definitely knew who he was, she lived right in the house behind his. The only reason she probably moved in was because she thought the house was vacant. Everyone knew the story of his house and thought he was crazy to still be living there. He leaned over into the passenger seat enough for her to see him. "You uh.. Look like you need a ride." His voice was a bit loud, just so she could hear him over the sound of the loud rainfall. "I wouldn't mind, You're 10 minutes from home, 20 if you still wanna walk."
