I came across the title for this one from the Dolmenwood Player’s Book list of Inspirational Media. So far, this one is unique among “Appendix N” reading I’ve done by being a poem (though I suppose Beowulf in Pathfinder Appendix 3 is one as well…

As we enter the new year, with winter very much casting its breath over Europe, I thought I would share this poem by Christina Rossetti. I love the inspiration she takes from the Pre-Raphaelite movement, especially her use of nature, symbolism, and the belief that beauty lives in careful attention to the world around us.
