(Admittedly I am biased, not only bc I didn't enjoy the series but also bc there was something about the CGI in the series that like, REALLY rattled my jimmies. Like. A LOT. And I don't know WHAT it is bc I am NOT a CGI artist nor am I versed at ALL in how to do a good CGI, etc., etc., and I think it was JUST before the AI boom so I don't THINK it's that. But those reindeer were UNSETTLING. Like, they were so much more fun in the movies! Comet straight up giving Santa a rope in case he fell off the roof? Like. HOW did he DO that. DUNNO! BUT! HE HAD PERSONALITY! THE SERIES ONES DIDN'T!)

Probably a solid 5. On the one hand, it's TEDIOUS and ANNOYING and seemingly NEVER ENDS bc when I go back to read for FUN, I realize, "Oh! I could've put this differently! Oh, a typo I missed! Yikes!" and it's EXHAUSTING.
On the other hand, my final edit is usually an out loud read to Richard, The husbando himself, and watching him react as I read is like SO reassuring and SO delightful and REALLY makes me feel good about the writing :)

I would say a mix of both, only bc most of my OCs—at least, the main ones! (Jacquie primarily lmao)—START as a reader insert, tho back in my day it was a self-insert, lol. I usually start with "hmm...who would I be in this universe?" and then mould the character based on that! then they grow from there and become the OC :)
As for the other OCs, they all have bits n pieces of my me in their characterizations, which is why I'm thinking it's a bit of both! Like. Blinter's relationship is inspired by classic 1960s series Gomez and Morticia, and ALSO me and my husbando! Dite has my love of love, Blaise has the relentless hope I seem to constantly be dealing with, Winter has my common sense—that sort of thing.

Every day I wake up to a little creature who wants food and it is SO annoying BUT he is SO cute and I'm glad I got my little cinnabuddy around :3 Cat tax!!

Oh I'm an essay girl lmao. I LOVE when people leave a long comment with lots of gushing, highlighting their favourite parts. THAT'S my favourite comment. Like, I want to know what parts people enjoyed and the silly bits they caught and perhaps the SRS bits they caught! Like. This is a book club to me and we are all talking about the book it is my FAVE THING to see in comments 🤩🤩🤩
Of course, I'm not THAT insane. If someone leaves me a two or three sentence comment with their fave part in it or something that really had them smiling/they really enojyed, it's also an essay to me. I LOVE those comments. I JUST LOVE KNOWING WHAT PARTS DELIGHTED EVERYONE! I LOVE KNOWING IF I HELPED SOMEONE GET JOY OR WHIMSY OR DELIGHT OUT OF THEIR DAY WITH MY SILLY LIL' STORIES!!! 🥰🥰🥰

On a more SRS note, I just LOVE K's art, it's absolutely GORGEOUS and so SOFT, like, idk what's up with her brushes or what she does to achieve it, but I LOVE the slight texturey look they all have? It's SOFT as HECK. I am also IN LOVE with the hug itself--the way we can't see Jack's face and he looks like he's just squeezing her really, really tight, hand all up in the hair AND SHE'S NOT EVEN COMPLAINING ABOUT IT! WHICH NORMALLY SHE WOULD!! And the way she's hugging him back just as tight and her eyes are closed and just, IT'S A REALLY DEEP HUG AND LIKE. I KNOW K SAID THE CONTEXT WAS NEBULOUS. SO I'd totally barfed love for the Pirates movies to my best friend, and she was very excited about me being so excited about something, right? So I then tell her about my silly story idea, and I add her to it, and we start low key doing a co-writing/roleplay thing, and she came up with a gr8 title and we wrote like 3 whole chapters???
AND I HAD SO. MUCH. FUN. I WROTE MORE CHAPTERS! AND SHARED THEM WITH HER! Anyway, she mentioned she knew a site where we could share it bc we were like, 11 and we were like "wow this is so good" and she never got around to telling me the site. BUT HERE'S THE THING.
AROUND THE SAME TIME! My cousin was super into fanfiction, right? And we had both read wizard book series and she was super excited I'd finally got around to reading it, so anyway, we chatted all about it and from there she taught me all about ships and couples and I went "woagh it'd be cool to see these stories continue somewhere!" and she went "SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND FANFICTION.NET" and I went WOAGH!
I read all her recs then realized, hmm...I can find fics for OTHER series I like!!! And TORE THROUGH the categories for PotC, Danny Phantom, and a couple of other odds and ends. It was GRAND.
My friend lost interest in our silly little story, sadly, but she did confirm that ff.net was the site she was thinking of, and that was that...but I had had SO. MUCH. FUN WRITING THAT THING AND THE IDEA NEVER TRULY LEFT. AND FINALLY, WHEN I WATCHED TSC 3, AND GOT THAT STORY IDEA. I WENT "FUCK IT! WE BALL!" and here we are!
SO! tl;dr: I discovered how fun it was to write fanfic and then where people did it and that was it for me lmao

I DEFFS think Lizzy roamed the seas frequently and did Pirate King things, went back to Port Royale to get her STUFF back (espesh since it was historically a pirate port!!!), like, she did NOT stay stationary and Henry went with her places and she and Will met FREQUENTLY on the seas. ALL THE TIME. For REAL for REAL.
I ALSO hc that when, in the last movie, which I HATE btw but that's a whole ass other post (I am SO MAD at how they retconned canon and characterization and GAH), when the curse DOES break, it's only the not steppping on land bit that breaks? okokok so. when writing. if you need to end off somewhere to go do something else, but are in the middle of a good flow and don't want to lose it, just make SQUARE BRACKETS and STICK YOUR THOUGHTS THERE. It works WONDERS for me. I recommend it all the damn time, it's SO handy!!

Almost to weekend ! How has March been treating you thus far ?
It's been twelve (12) days of march and I have NO IDEA what I've done this month??? 🤣🤣 Like. Where did the time go, right? But let's see!
So far, in no particular order:
We got Fake Spring so I took some DAMN FINE naps after work with the windows open and that springtime scent in the air
This week's naps have been ESPECIALLY divine (pre-Winter 2) because DAYLIGHT. IT'S LIKE AN AFTERNOON NAP IN THE EVENING. I AM BUT A WEE LITTLE CAT AT HEART
We're now solidly into Winter 2. The wind hurt my face this morning 🤪
FINALLY went ahead and got refitted for a nightguard! Hopefully this helps teeth sensitivity I've been experiencing!
ALSO did some stupid "I had braces" perma-wire maintenance and it's nice to have glue back on the wire again lol
Husbando has pep in his step again and I can finally rest and take some time to get back to me
Which is a thing I could do before 100%! But apparently I had a wee little "old habits" resurgence last month 😅 but HEY! THIS IS WHY WE THERAPY!
Husbando is ALSO starting therapy again and realizing work has had him fucked UPPPPPPP the last two to three years and I'm like, THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN SAYING!

Made HUGE strides with WIPS! Managed to find the issue that's had me stuck on the opening scene of Frostmas Y11 for like, 3 years at this point
AND went ahead and wrote a Y11 scene that had been in my head since Y10 (I wanted to put it there originally but I couldn't find a natural ground for it, and found a DELICIOUS location and reason for it in Y11 >:)
AND! Yesterday at Crafternoon I managed to write more Clifton Incident! I've got like 3 scenes left guys. I'm so close. Holy shit. Action scenes are HARD
ESPECIALLY when one is going with the flow and NOT following notes

Harley started CREAKING so she got a lil spa treatment today and they cleaned a rust buildup off her breaks and she's now 100% less creaky apparently (we'll see about that on lunch)
I've finished 3 books this month so far! Seems like a small amount but deffs isn't for me!!
I ALSO finally looked at my pile of library books and went "okay. Do I really feel like reading some of these rn" and returned two today and it feels less daunting now and I'm excited to read the remaining four lmao
(weirdly enough dropping these two books back in the bin has actually made me feel SO MUCH LIGHTER about reading?? I guess I REALLY wasn't looking forward to them lmao)

My parents have been going through bins of crap downstairs and messy storage areas and my mom has started giving me her scrapbook stuff >:)
Michael's had an Easter/Spring wreath bogo sale so GUESS who FINALLY has Easter Wreaths for her two doors >:) THIS GAL!
I had to do very adult things like call my insurance company and also call the student loads people to get back into my account and it TURNS OUT the LATTER can be done ONLINE so now I've gotta wait for snail mail hehe
AND I just got off the phone with insurance and tackled TWO tasks with them and we'll see how that goes! >:)
So I suppose for the time being, March has been gentle if anything which is a goddamn BREAK and a HALF that was WELL NEEDED.
So, I began with CS first... but now I'm thinking maybe I should have started with RoE? In any case, I'm not far very far in, but I'm really enjoying getting to know Jaquie more. Girl has an iron-clad will.

I'd recommend reading RoE because I very enjoy it, I LOVE Elle, (Bernard and Elle are my favourite BxOC match I've EVER read, and I've read most if not all of the ones pre-dating like. 2018? 2017?) and Jacqueline is there, but tbh they can be read separately! I tried to make sure to keep the important things that happened in RoE known in CS right off the bat, so that people don't get too thrown off! :)
