I never thought Rose was creepy/pervy, but I know what scene makes you think that.

I always disliked that scene when he leans in close and tries to convince Nessa to give up her modeling career. It felt to me like he wanted her to work harder for him and make him more money.

What Rose did was certainly not malicious, I can agree with you there. He wasn’t trying to destroy Galar. But one of the most important parts of his plan was Leon. The trainer he trusted to keep Eternatus in check. And what Rose did in response to Leon’s request to wait was pretty stupid, honestly. The issue was a long way away from becoming a big deal.

Leon asked him to wait, like, a week. Pretty reasonable. Rose? Decides to throw out the whole containment part of his plan. Completely disregards any safety measure.

So Rose is, naturally, the one who calls the meeting into place. He’s got a whole professional setup. He’s got a whole room dedicated to video conferences. It has a whiteboard and a spot for displaying presentations.

Leon is trying to be professional. He’s doing his best to pay attention, but every once in a while his mind and eyes wander. He taps on his phone a couple times, but because Rose watches him closer than the others, he tries to stay focused.

Milo doesn’t do technology. He’s trying to get on the conference, but he doesn’t know what he’s doing. Once he gets there, he pays attention. No, wait, he was zoning out and it only looked like he was paying attention. A three hour meeting and Milo didn’t catch a word of it.

Nessa couldn’t care less. She gets on a little late. She does pay attention, though, but only to take notes for Milo. He’s going to ask her what Rose said after the call. She texts Sonia making fun of Rose. This dude is the butt of every joke in the league.

Kabu isn’t paying attention. At all. He told himself he would, but he’s not. He couldn’t bring himself to care about sponsor stats or whatever Rose is droning about. He’s doing his own work for his gym instead. He’s muted and deafened so he can’t hear Rose yelling at him to pay attention.

Bea is paying attention. But she’s doing it to practice keeping focused rather than because she cares what Rose is asking. She’s got a dead eyed stare at her screen and no one has seen her blink yet. Rose is pretty sure she can’t hear a thing he says, but he doesn’t wanna say anything because he’s worried that she’s listening and he’ll look like an ass (he already does).

Allister is reading. He’s facing the screen, but the meeting is taking up only a small bit of his screen. He’s reading a horror story instead. Rose tries to tell him to pay attention, but Allister just says “I am.” No one can see his eyes, so Rose can’t prove he’s not. The rest of the league knows he isn’t, though, since it’s hard for a kid to focus.

Opal doesn’t understand technology. She’s worse than Milo. She doesn’t know how to mute and deafen. It poses kind of a problem when she turns around to talk to someone about something. She also misses like half the stuff Rose says. She’s trying, though, and when she gets Bede, he tries to teach her.

Melony knows what she’s doing, but she pretends she doesn’t. She doesn’t want to be on a meeting, so she kills time by pretending she can’t get on the call. Some of them know what she’s doing, but the other half are clueless, including Rose.

Gordie is the first on. He greets everyone in goofy ways. When Rose starts talking Gordie says “This presentation is brought to you by Raid Shadow Legends.” Rose is annoyed that he has to wait on the group to stop laughing, but there’s nothing he could do.

Piers does not care at all. He knows he’ll get yelled at by Rose if he doesn’t show up, so he does. He’s texting Raihan and Leon with jokes trying to make them laugh in the meeting. Eventually he gets hungry, so he just puts up a picture of him sitting in his chair and leaves. Milo’s like “Mr. Rose, I don’t think Piers has blinked in 20 minutes.” Yeah, he left to go get food with Marnie. They wait for him to get back and when Rose starts yelling he just laughs.

Raihan poses in the camera and takes pictures/videos of the conference to put on social media. In one of them, Rose is telling Raihan to put the camera down. The group is laughing at Rose and Raihan arguing over it. He does all sorts of things to make everyone laugh when Rose isn’t looking. It’s like a cartoon.

Rose thinks it’s funny, this is before he realizes how seriously the others take this shit, and he only makes this mistake once. Allister is not in the room when he does it.

Milo is kind of shocked. He stops laughing along with Roses other jokes. He just kind of glares and goes silent. He doesn’t need to do much, he knows the others are going to take care of it. He gives Rose the cold shoulder, pushing his hand away when he tries to put it on his shoulder and refusing to face him.

Nessa gasps and glares. As soon as Rose asks her what’s wrong, she just kind of says “How are you? I know you didn’t just say that.” She sits next to Milo just kind of chattering with him about how messed up what Rose just said is.

Kabu clicked with Allister almost immediately. He came to him for advice. So he looks at Rose and just says “That’s not funny. I thought you were better than this.” He gets up and leaves immediately. A few others, including Milo and Nessa leave with him.

Bea is furious. She’s seeing red. How dare he? She gets up and starts shouting. She rips Rose to pieces and tells him never to say that again. She’s very scary and threatening. Rose is terrified. Then she just turns and leaves.

Opal glares ans shakes her head disapprovingly. Rose tries to talk to Opal, but she just glares and shakes her head some more. Rose tries to move on, but she just keeps glaring at him. It’s like daggers. She’s the last to get up and leave.

Gordie likes Allister pretty well and was one of the first to approach him and welcome him to the league. So he gets up, tells Rose to never say that again, it’s not funny and just plain not true, and leaves. No room for arguments.

Melony is stunned until she sees Bea get up and yell at him. Then she gets up and screams at him. Twice as long, twice as loud. She makes it a point to tell him that making fun of anyone is not okay, especially not children. She leaves before he got a chance to say anything.

Piers is also pretty close to Allister, since he likes kids and all and was worried about him. He just gives him a death stare, as soon as Rose starts trying to explain himself to him, Piers throws his pen. Then when Rose tries to yell at him for it, he throws something bigger. Then he gets up and leaves. Dead silent, which is when you know you’re in trouble.

Raihan is, once again, very close with Allister. He yells at Rose for a minute, watches Piers throw shit. Yells at Rose some more. Probably throws something himself, small, though, like a pen. Then he leaves. He refuses to talk to Rose for a week.

That wouldn’t go well. Especially if it was the kind where they’re all put in one house and forced to just survive. There would be fistfights on national TV. They love each other, but putting them all together for extended periods of time is too much. Especially for Rose. He wouldn’t last a day.

But imagine if it was like Survivor or smth. Now that would be good.

Everyone: “We vote Rose off the island.”

Rose:

Milo just says he’s disappointed. He never appreciated how he disrespected all of them. He’s forgiving, though, and said that he only hopes that Rose learns his lesson in prison.

Nessa was pretty angry at Rose. He endangered her friends and he’d always insulted her modeling career and fellow gym leaders. She says it serves Rose right that he’s in prison now. She explains everything he did wrong to them. Then she leaves, no goodbye or anything. Mic drop.

Kabu never appreciated what Rose did to the others. He was completely fine with him, but that doesn’t mean Kabu liked Rose. He gives him a long lecture about respect, and about how because of his behavior, no one was coming to save him. Hope he learns his lesson.

Bea doesn’t say much. It’s mostly silence and disapproving glares. It’s possibly one of the most effective visits he gets. Bea does mention that she’s disappointed in him and that he was disrespectful to all of them. She leaves with a “how dare you?”

Allister is confused. He’d heard the other gym leaders talk about how rude Rose was, but he never really saw much of it himself. He guessed he didn’t pick up on it. He asked Rose a lot of questions. Why did you do it? Do you know people got hurt? Why were you so mean? He didn’t get as many answers as he had hoped for.

Opal was pretty smug. She watched Rose throughout his whole career, and she saw him going down this road. She warned him many times. She sat there for a long time with a smug look. A couple “I told you so” statements, and then a long, calm talk about how he messed up and not many of the gym leaders liked him.

Gordie is really angry. He, his friends, and his mother were in danger because of Rose. To be honest, Rose kind of flinches at Gordie’s rant about what a moron he is. How dare Rose? What did he think he was doing? What did he have to say for himself? He scoffed when Rose didn’t have anything to say, and left.

Melony was even angrier than Gordie. She cares deeply for every gym leader and all of Galar. Rose put everything in danger for what seems like his own selfish needs. She really tears him a new one. She calls him a selfish idiot and asks him what made him think that was a good idea.

Piers was furious. A lot of people who cared about were put in immediate danger, and he put the rest of Galar in slightly less danger. Rose thinks he’s gonna get smart and insult Piers while he’s getting yelled at. Piers nearly breaks the glass. He’s banging on it, throwing back insults. Everything he wanted to say to Piers the years he spent working under him come pouring out. Rose is definitely scared by the time Piers is dragged out.

Raihan is possibly the most upset out of them all. Rose’s whole nefarious plan was happening right in his gym and he did nothing. People could have/might have died, and Raihan blames himself. He’s uncharacteristically quiet. He asks Rose a bunch of why questions. He’s still trying to comprehend the situation. He’s still blaming himself, but he does let Rose know how hurt and betrayed he feels because of all this.

Leon feels really betrayed and confused. He kind of wants to ask Rose if it’s all a big prank. It doesn’t feel real. Most of his visit is just him sitting in silence and glancing at Rose every once in a while. He asks a few quiet questions. Why? Why wouldn’t Rose just listen to him? Does he know what he did? Does Rose know what he did to him? It’s really heartbreaking for Leon, who looked up to Rose in some way as the father figure that was missing in his youth.

Obstagoon cheers Piers on only because there’s chaos going on.
