ALSO
Sam Tarly inventing democracy and having it laughed off by the other nobles makes 1000% sense. Going from absolute monarchy to total democracy would be a NIGHTMARE. Just look at what happened when Dany liberated Slaver’s Bay. There was chaos because the people could not adjust to such a complete change in political structure. I am NOT saying liberating the slaves and outlawing slavery was bad. I AM saying that the Meereenese Knot is a thing and people should understand it before they becry Westeros’s new system of government.
Am I the only person who didn’t miss the ‘all new future kings will be elected by the lords and ladies of Westeros’ thing? Therebye ending familial dynasties and breaking the wheel?? No, just me? Okay.
Stannis stans: *sip coffee* ahh yeah now you know how we felt bitch
I saw your post where you were saying that the beginning of 8x06 looked like the liberation of a concentration camp... I can see that but for me, I mostly saw a city after a terroristic attack. The half burned man walking through the destroyed city? That was what you would see after the twin towers fell down. Since ( the modern idea of) terrorists are technically people who believe that they have are right and the others should die, I think that they wanted to recall that too...
Oh yeah I can see that as well! When Arya wakes up after being knocked out the first time she definitely looks like a New Yorker covered in dust and ash after the towers fell. My immediate thought was concentration camp because a.) d@ny has a lot of Nazi imagery around her and b.) I’m currently rewatching Band of Brothers so that’s kind of the headspace I’m partially in rn.

Hey we gonna talk about how the beginning of 8x06 looked like the liberation of a concentration camp then the scene with the Dothraki and Unsullied looked like a Nuremberg rally???
@mantis-blades ah yes humans suck and corruption exists in every form of government in human history,,,, Westeros definitely shouldn’t change theirs then so that they can naturally evolve to a democratic republic. Nope. Definitely not. Because OBVIOUSLY tyrants like Aerys and Joffrey will NEVER get elected and all of their children after them that are also crazy bitches will 100% FOR SURE not get the crown. Because having elected monarchs is SO MUCH WORSE for Westeros than Targaryen Restoration and guaranteeing a whole new cycle of mad, power hungry, and unstable absolute rulers whose authority can never be challenge and whose crazy ass kids are 100% garaunteed to wear the crown after them.
Sit the fuck down you fool.
staying off the internet while watching Game of Thrones and for hours afterwards has increased my enjoyment of the show tremendously. Truly shows how the negativity in the fandom can spoil your view of things before you have time to come to terms with them on your own.
