As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage month, comedian/founder George Diaz is making history with the first ever LATINO LAUGHTER COMEDY FESTIVAL (LLCF), celebrating the impact Latinos have made on the comedy world.
LLCF will be showcasing a collection of new and seasoned talent, performing stand-up, sketch, improvisational, & filmed comedy.
In addition to the performances, LLCF will be holding panel discussions on the state of Latinos in Comedy, and classes on writing & acting in comedy.
Latino comedy has been a mainstay in New York City for years, entertaining the masses with insight into our culture, and our perspective on the world. We have enhanced, changed, and built a substantial part of what is the New York City comedy scene. Join us is October for the celebration!

A Hispanic owned improv organization, founded by Felix Rojas & Edwardo InFante, is dedicated to promoting competition in improvisational comedy on a national level. This show has grabbed the attention of the nation, creating new competitors all the time.
8:15 PM TO 9:45PM | THE “NEW FUNNY” SHOWCASE
Award winning comedian/writer Laz Vic will be hosting a showcase of the up and coming new talent in Latino Comedy.
9PM TO 10:45PM | QUE VAINA?
This show is dedicated to the top Dominican comedians in the tristate area. The show will be both in English and Spanish, a great combination for an excellent time!
2PM TO 3:00PM | WHY AREN’T YOU CRUSHING IT? – A SOCIAL MEDIA Q&A
Sofrito Media Group founder George “Urban Jibaro” Torres will be hosting an intensive social media Q&A session, in a group setting, that will explore brand building proven strategies to engage with the right audience!
3PM TO 4:45PM | THE STAND-UP COMIC’S ACTING CLASS
Enhancing the act-out Description and Take the voices of your characters on stage to the next level. Give them purpose, clarity, and intention. Watch your ideas come to life in a whole new way. Instructor: Actor, Director, Producer, writer, Veteran Comedian Victor Cruz
5PM TO 6:45PM | MOVIE SCREENING OF “THE STOCKROOM”
The year is 1998. Our story follows Joseph Rodriguez, a stockroom supervisor who once had a dream to be a stand-up comic. After a failed promotion, his original dream begins to resurface. Urban legend tells us, if you’ve been in the stockroom for ten years or more, you’ll never leave. Joseph is about to hit that mark and he’ll have to decide what he is going to do with his life before the clock strikes midnight.

This show will feature a variety of top female comedians including: Sara Contreras, Peaches Rodriguez, and more to be announced.  Hosted by Room 28’s Rachel “La Loca” Strauss-Muniz.

After the laughs, join the festival goers and performers for a drinks and fun at Bar 9, 807 9th avenue between 53rd and 54th Street. Â Hosted by comedian Kenny Ortega.
2PM TO 3:45PM | COMEDY WRITING WORKSHOP
Host Laz Vic (writer for the Late Show, HBO and Telemundo), will be providing insight and points on how to improve your writing for stand up, stage, and sketch comedy!
4PM TO 5:30PM | “BEING A FUNNY LATINA” PANEL DISCUSSION
Being funny is hard.  Being a funny female, in a male dominated industry, is even harder.  Add being a Latina to the mix, and it’s almost impossible.  ALMOST.  This panel will feature funny Latinas that have broken through, and succeeded. Room 28’s Rachel “La Loca” Strauss-Muniz will be moderating, with a Q&A session to follow.
9PM TO 10:45PM | ROOM 28 SKETCH COMEDY GROUP
Room28 is a bombastic and high energy sketch group taking the comedy scene by storm.  It’s a high octane mix of comedy, sprinkled with Dominican and Puerto Rican flavor.
11PM TO 12:45AM | CLOSING FESTIVAL PERFORMANCE: LLEGAMOS COMEDY SHOW
Comedian Victor Cruz hosts a line-up of veteran Latino comedian that have toured all over the United States. This closing show will leave everyone wanting more!
