Hey Everybody! Welcome to another Monkey Monday! Today it’s gonna be short and as I’m a bit busy with commission work. These are some value studies from a while back. If I’m not mistaken I took half an hour on each. I think I could do a bit better. Either was keep busy people! Study hard, practice and own your destiny!

I must confess this damn Orc dude was supposed to be finished today, BUT because someone was very lazy and well, in general I couldn't get the piece to work despite trying a few things, the thing is like this...half finished in my eyes. Now seeing all the three different stages the piece has gone through, the last piece lacks the grittiness of the second drawing and has become something very different from the first drawing, in a good way but also in a bad way. I'm gonna give it a rest and jump on it later on this week and will keep you beautiful faces updated.

Hey everybody! Welcome to another Monkey Monday!
So as I have been figuring out this past week how to draw the eye, what better way to put that all to the test than by doing an orc portrait, I love em orcs! Most of all I miss doing some digital painting and so hopeful this sweet little monster will lead up to that. It’s still a work in progress, I’m still figuring him out trying to get to know him a bit better and not make him just another bland old orc.
For now this has been my process: start with sketches (pencil on paper), finalize it, scan the final drawing, do some line clean up and then get some color in there, mostly base colors and later on shadows, lighting and all that other juicy stuff! Okay Dokay sexy people of the internet, I will see you next week with some more monkeyness. Keep on being awesome and have a great week!
