I don't find it at all surprising that it's mostly women that are glad Reigns won and defending him like he deserved it. Defending him like he has worked harder than anyone else. But fuck it. I'm turning 30 next month so frankly IDGAF. I'm gonna say it. Reigns did not deserve to win. He has yet to accomplish anything significant and is failing to connect with the fans the same way Bryan and Ambrose have. Bryan connects with the fans way more than Reigns. The only reason he won is because of his lineage to the Anoa'i family and being related to The Rock, and because of his looks. If you think otherwise, congrats. You are exactly who Vince McMahon wants watching his product. Take his looks, his lineage, family ties, and what does Reigns have? Almost nothing. Now I know what you're thinking: "Well you guys wanted Reigns to win last year so what the hell?" Yes, because that was BEFORE we found out how bland and uncharismatic the guy is. Because that was BEFORE we realized that out of the three Shield members, Reigns is the one that brings the least to the table. It's no wonder WWE simply had Reigns in the background looking pretty and doing little during the Shield's reign. And I know what else you're thinking: "Fuck this Philadelphia crowd! Why are they booing?" The answer to that is simple. When you try to force something on people, when you try to force people to like someone, they tend to rebel. Wrestling fans DO NOT like being told who to get behind and they sure as hell don't like cheap tricks such as using The Rock to try and get the crowd to get behind Reigns. They DO NOT like being treated like idiots or creatures of inferior intelligence. Reigns fans and WWE Creative, the Philadelphia crowd is known for being brutally honest and telling you what you don't want to hear. And you just got a huge taste of reality. If you want the fans to get behind Reigns, let it happen naturally like with Bryan and CM Punk. Don't try to force it because then the backlash will be severe. Now I don't hate Reigns. I like him. But it's clear he's not ready and still has a long way to go. He is not meeting expectations even within the company. Reigns has until Wrestlemania to get his shit together and give us a reason to get behind him. If he doesn't then not only will it make the WWE look bad, but it will be a black eye on the Anoa'i family, and will look bad on The Rock. It will even look bad for Lesnar if he drops the belt to Reigns and he doesn't live up to expectations.
