You know I find it interesting that my oc is my comfort character. Consider she isn't a good person, and at this point it feels alot less than a mask or something, and more like a persona.
I think it may stem from my childhood, since I never really had friends growing up I may have developed some not so friendly feelings however at that point I think it was drilled into me that they are bad or something, so when I created scarlett and grown attached I ended up projecting my emotions towards others and I would probably say humanity, onto her.
That her almost complete lack of empathy, came from me. That I subconsciously hated the people around me so much that she ended up being someone that would find the enjoyment of serious hurting someone but aswell finding the people she genuinely likes and sticking with them.
Pair with the fact that she is my comfort character could stem from the fact that I have went through quite a few phases, hetalia, anime, homestuck, sure I am still a fan of them. But I dont obsessed over them, however Scarlett, that character, she has been mine, someome that throughout it all has been someone with me. She has grown alot and as such she grew as a character.
What I mean is that anyone can make a character, a few traits one would like, a basic idea of what they would look like.
However it takes time to make a character into a person. And I like to think that is what Scarlett is now, a person. So I now almost never refer to her as a character but like she was a real person, with complex emotions and motivations.
Like recently I have learned she has a god complex, I never thought of it before. But I ended up thinking about how she could've handled a certain situation and I realized during her monolog during the scene that she did in fact, think she was some kind of god. Or perhaps I've learned details early on that stuck, like out of everything for her design, she ALWAYS has bright red hair, and blue eyes. That was always a must for her, and I've known this since forever.
And I just find it funny how if you are working with a character often enough that they grow to be more of a character.
And I can look at my character Scarlett and say that Yes, she is a person. That I can look at to dofferent pictures for her and say that they are practically two different people however the same.

Talei was one of my top ten favorite roleplaying ocs. Since her character was born into the group she was easier to get interactions for. But just like my other ocs she wasnโt popular in the grand scheme of things and didnโt really have any ships or people scrambling to interact with her in the long term. She did eventually get a mate and cubs but I had to force it.ย
