"Elsa, pull yourself together. You're fine. Breathe." Elsa coached herself in a whisper, pressing her back to the brick wall. She didn't recognize this street, and she had no idea where to go to get back to her (hopefully extremely temporary) room at the motel. She'd been such an idiot, thinking she could handle Vegas as easily as she'd handled a nice little college town. And now anxiety was creeping its tendrils up her spine, choking her. She couldn't do this. She'd get mugged, murdered out here...or worse, she'd have to run home to her parents...
