If you could have 3 famous works of art in your home, which would you pick?
Youāre evil. I love it.
FIrst: Claude Monet,Ā Terrace in Sainte-Adresse.Ā
Look at that. Itās fantastic. I used to have a puzzle of this as a kid, which is part of why I love it so much.
Second: Not one in particular, but Rodin has a series of hands carved in marble, and seeing them was pretty much a religious experience for me. The detail, the life-like-ness...
This is just what popped up in google, I donāt have any particular hands in mind. I just think theyāre marvelous.
Third: Today Iām thinking Degas. Well, really, Iām thinking this one specific painting of people singing on a balcony, but Iām tired and canāt remember the artist and also really love this Degas piece. So, The Ballet Class.
Itās my icon! Degas captures movement like no one else, and makes this period and its inhabitants seem normal, not like some mystical creatures from a time long past. I donāt know - his paintings just always get me.
Great question, thanks for asking! Sorry if I got totally cliche on you.
