Oh my god yeah that's right two movies in one day. BIG fucking day. For me. I love da movies. What can I say (also because I'm a little sick again. Lol). Did my usual two lists, one of the the good and one of the bad, and a ramble. I rambled a LOT. Because. OH WELL I GUESS YOU'LL SEE >:) it's really a lot of screaming from me on this one.

I'm really quite pleased with these movies in that they require absolutely no thought, you can put em on with some snacks and have a lil doodle session while watching and just. Chill. Good vibes.

This movie really could've used a nosy motherfucker like me bc unlike Rody or Izuku the second I picked up on the fact that the case was important I would've read literally every single thing in there and remembered all of it I fear.

Ok this is just a small note: Electric guitar is absolutely not the move for your whimsical car ride through an idyllic landscape with the sun rising in the background. Please I'm begging you. Go acoustic if you want a guitar!

Ok we love a MacGuffin plot (this is a lie, dear reader, I find MacGuffins annoying)

I feel like we've seen too many of these same shots of the Humarise people and it's really just getting so old.

With love, I get that you want a shot of Dramatic Feathers To Show Your Heroes Are Serious but also. You have a literal feather spewing hero so like... think about the associations babes!

The fight scenes are, in fact, a HOT FUCKING MESS.

We already had this "I will rid the world of the quirk disease" schtick with Overhaul and it was cooler better and more interesting there

Plot contrivance birb daemon is still a plot contrivance. THOUGH A DELIGHTFUL ONE NOW

Every fight really does devolve into ∞+1 doesn't it

So I think this was probably the best contained movie story-wise. Super tight, we get right to it, we set up the very straightforward plot and we don't waste too much time. I like it. It's punchy, dense, and packs in a lot of fun and character in its 1.75 hours.

Being so fr I did not anticipate to like this one as much as I did. I didn't expect to be charmed by the stupid bird, I didn't expect to be charmed by Rody, I didn't expect to be taken on a gay little adventure by Crimedoriya, I didn't expect to like the shape of it NEARLY as much as I did. But I did. It's delightful in its loose shape.

The animation is probably the most nightmarish of the three movies so far though, and it REALLY suffers for that when we get to the action. Or just the CGI backdrops. It's all really. Really crusty! Which is a shame because the base concept and overall execution is actually pretty strong. Loved the idea of them poking around on something tangentially related to a storyline in the main series, liked the way we got a sense of what everyone was doing but they really narrowed in on the cast in focus for the movie, loved how well-contained the characters were, and especially enjoyed the opportunity to do something the main show never could (because let's be real, they'd never let Izuku be a Wanted Criminal like that. Couldn't manage that in season six even!)

It's a good concept, and from a beat by beat standpoint is quite solid! Basic, but very fun. Loved Rody and Izuku bonding on their incredibly gay road trip. Very Thelma and Louise. Very cute. Someone shoved a whole romcom in this movie and I love them for it. HIS QUIRK IS AN EXTERNAL MANIFESTATION OF HIS EMOTIONS AND HIS QUIRK LITERALLY FUCKEN GOES TO CUDDLE IN IZUKU'S HAIR. SAY IT WITH ME: GAY.

It should be queerbaiting but it's not <3 because it's just. Gay. Like. If you gender swapped Rody and just did everything the same but he was a girl. It would just be a romance anime. I fear. I really had a laugh like what am I supposed to do with this. Love that all three movies are just Next Level Homotron 6000 Propaganda.

Okay so back to the plot I think. Honestly it's fine. Very basic, but fine. The CGI absolutely ruins any sort of fun I could've had watching the actual action as we reached the end especially, which is a real shame, because I wish I could've liked it more, but I just. Didn't.
