‪I went to my house for the last time tonight. Dug up St Joseph in the backyard, went to plant another spell in the dark herb garden. There I found a rabbit skull tangled in the oregano, and it felt like a gift. ‬

This is basically the last three days. Big days. Friday was an action: watching out for Jeff Sessions. Why sit still when a fascist comes to town? Lots of making art and writing in prep. Out that night dancing and running jukeboxes with Katie and Lisa. Saturday I’ve mostly forgotten already, but painted skulls and went out to Reeds with Ken and Josie. Then to their house for rummy. I lost. Today worked at Rockethaus. Spread mulch and moved bricks and generally wore myself out. Paul Pigneri stopped by — 88 year old son of the man who built my house. Told a few stories about the neighborhood. It’s a hard house to leave. It will go on.

I found many odd things in the front yard of Rockethaus — most commonly liquor bottles, beer cans, and porn DVDs — but the weirdest of them all were ‪the severed mallard head and the burnt toast. ‬
