Writing Direction: Tumblr Opinion!
With the year already two thirds of the way done, I've realized that I've been having my hands drawn between a myriad of different projects. And since I've long since forgotten to you know, ask the folks that would read my things, here I am now! Blurbs explaining the options below should help out for clarification.
What should I focus my writing on?
Fog Horn Blues, a Cosmic Horror tale
Ancient Beasts, a dinosaur revenge story
Seasons of Goliaths, the kaiju narrative
Trials of the Punished, a Dark Fantasy/Dark Souls inspired tale
Fog Horn Blues: It's been over a decade and a half since Suki lost her home to a nearly world ending event. A long time spent hunting monsters and wrangling the thing trapped in her veins. But when a postcard from a home long gone from a person that should be long dead reaches her, it's time for her to go home and confront what was left behind years ago. Think cosmic horror meets whale fall meets Silent Hill/Siren
(The wonderful art was done by @rochasaurusrex of Flowers of Etrea fame!) Ancient Beasts: Once, Lagerta was happy. With a loving mate, a solid territory, and plenty of food, she was content as a Ceratosaurus could be. That was, until a mixed pack of theropods, including a battle torn Tyrannosaurus killed her mate and left her for dead in a flood. Still alive, she makes her way back with only one goal in mind: revenge on those theropods who took her entire world from her.
(This art was also done by @rochasaurusrex and is a regular inspiration point) Seasons of the Goliaths: Probably the most familiar of the stories I've talked on Tumblr, this is a semi-serial kaiju story set in the ficticious city of Greenvale and will follow the stories of Darcy, Basil and Zara as they get sucked into the world of re-awakening goliaths and strange situations that occur with them.
(I've already been featuring @rochasaurusrex's fantastic work and might as well continue the trend with his Baelora and Kalthor!) Trials of the Punished: We follow a character trapped in an obuliette, known only as the punished, as they're rescued by a strange masked man and forced to try and fight towards an unachievable goal as the world rots around them, twisted beyond anything they can recollect. Or was it always like this, and the time has changed their perspective? No art for this one, but it's an idea that's been knocking around in the back of my head for a solid bit.
