This was originally just a big dragon. But I decided to make it based off some of the stories of The Seven Voyages of Sinbad featuring the Roc, a mythical giant bird.
Cinnamologus Bird
I freaking love the Cinnamologus. Back in the day, cinnamon was super super expensive because you could only get it from one place, and when the traders turned up to buy it, the cinnamon sellers were like, "You'll never believe it guys...but these little sticks are from the nest of a bird. A FREAKING MASSIVE BIRD. That is CARNIVOROUS. And it builds its nest high up on SHEER CLIFFS. And the cliffs are MADE OF GLASS. The only way we could get these sticks is to leave out a dead cow to lure the bird away from its nest, and then smash bits away by throwing rocks before the Cinnamologus comes back and eats us. Barely escaped with our lives. Yep. That'll be 1200 sheep please."
We first get writings about the Cinnamologus in about 450BCE, and it's not until nearly FIVE HUNDRED YEARS LATER that Pliny the Elder writes a takedown piece exposing the cinnamon trade and calling bullshit on the whole thing. It just makes me so happy.

🌿 They're a Roc bird, 9'8 ft, with a proportional wingspan of about 20" ft (BIG)
☼ Their eyes are closer to a felines rather than an eagles, and has slit light-sensitive pupils
🌿 Occasionally will wear a golden beak cap, to blunt the sharp end of their beak
☼ Mostly non-verbal, but can communicate using more common languages does so rather rarely, however
🌿 Carries a lifestyle of an observer, quiet and reminiscing. Cathemeral, and can be seen active both at day and night
☼ Uses their talons and beak to use tools & expression!
🌿 Their raptorial beak has small, sharp rows of 'teeth' layered on the inner part of their mouth
