Dr. Fukurō is another Icebox OC who’s a major supporting character to Frank’n Nov! Whenever the gals are farther up shit creek than usual, they turn to Doc for help.  He’s a master roboticist, but more than that he’s a blunt, prickly sourpuss. XDD Who is very much NOT a people person. Just wants to be left the fuck ALONE and grow tomatoes in his garden. He never smiles. Ever.  

(Oldass ref I need to update sometime this century) Dr. Fukurō is also November’s “dad”, he built her for SUPERIOR while he was forcibly employed by them. Despite that, he was a doting father figure to Nov when she was a “young” AI in early development in their labs. But he couldn’t protect her from SUPERIOR forever. They wanted a monster, and through their cruelty they would turn November into more of a monster than they were ever prepared to handle . . . 

When Nov escaped the facility with Frank’s help, Doc was able to slip away in the chaos, and is currently presumed dead by SUPERIOR. Since then he’s been laying low under a false identity in a little town on the east coast.

It was some time after his escape that Frank turned up on his doorstep begging for help with November’s repairs. With his large, angry atomic daughter in tow. 

He slammed the door in their faces. XDD 

But if Frankie is anything, she is PERSISTENT. Eventually they got a (literal and proverbial) foot in the door with the doctor and since then have become regular fixtures in his life. 

These days, November and Fukurō have a tense but working relationship. Tense mostly on account of Nov feeling that Doc abandoned her to SUPERIOR's mistreatment. But with Frank pspspspsps’ing the two of them into the same room on the regular, they’re slowly mending things. I think deep down they both miss one another very much, but are so emotionally constipated that they don’t EXPRESS their goddamn feelings. Luckily Frank is the extrovert here to herd the introverts together.

Currently also featured on the cover of MAKE magazine, Jillian Ogle is a robot builder, game designer and the founder of Let’s Robot a live streaming interactive robotics community, where users can control real robots via chatroom commands, or put their on own robots online. Some users can even make money with their robots on the Let’s Robot platform which allows viewers to make micropayments to access some robots. All you need is a robot doing something that’s interesting to someone else, whether it’s visiting new locations or letting the internet shoot ping pong balls at you while you work!

As the first ‘Roboticist in Residence’ at Co-Lab in Oakland, Ogle has access to the all the equipment and 32,000 sq ft of space, providing her robotics community with a super large robot playground for her live broadcasts. And the company of fellow robot geeks. Co-Lab is the new coworking space at Circuit Launch supported by Silicon Valley Robotics, and provides mentors, advisors and community events, as well as electronics and robotics prototyping equipment.
