Do yourself a favor and play this at double speed. This is the first impressions of the 4-wheeler conversion, complete with my usual mumbling and cussing. And excuse the shop (garage) - It’s wearing a lot of hats these days and is jam packed with outgrown baby related claptrap. I’m kinda looking for actual shop space at the moment. The current state of the project has moved far past this point, with some discoveries that seem pretty obvious in hindsight. But I am undeterred, and the next steps are well underway.

RoboteQ’s sensorless control of BLDC motors uses back-EMF integration technique which provides very good start-up and commutation timing that is more precise than traditional zero-crossing detection techniques. Sensorless has fewer and different settings than sensored motors. For these reasons, sensorless is supported only on selected Motor Controller Hardware/Firmware, under new product references. The FSM2360S is the first of a series of upcoming controllers dedicated to sensorless brushless motor control. During braking, the regenerative voltage can be equal to, or even exceed, the supply voltage in some cases depending on the rotational inertia of the mechanical system, potentially causing permanent damage to the power supply and/or the motor controller.
