For Artemis, I think that he doesn’t typically use nonverbal greetings. He’s mentioned in the books as being very quiet when he walks, and sneaking up on people even when he doesn’t mean to, so I think most of the time he’s got to call out to people. But, I think when he does it’ll be around friends and family, so he’ll just take their hand. Both because I think Artemis would like being able to start a conversation with someone standing side by side for comfort, and because I think that would be unbearably cute.

For Phoenix, I think she uses non-verbal greetings a lot. Since the Legionaries jobs consist mainly of fighting gargoyles and shoplifting, they have to learn to keep as silent as possible, so they’ve developed quite a bit of non-verbal communication. In a fight or right before a fight, pointing your weapon downwards and lifting it in a “cheers” gesture is a call for attention from your allies, so it’s something that Phoenix and the other Legionaries use quite a bit, and it’s spread outside of fighting so that you can basically “cheers” anyone with anything you happen to be holding and it just means “come over and talk to me for a second.” Just, don’t unthinkingly flip something upside down that shouldn’t be flipped; there’s been so many things spilled on the floor that way.

For Robin, since he and Artemis roomed together for a long time, once they got comfortable with each other they would just sort of flop on the other person’s bed when they wanted to talk. And, I think they kept that habit of dramatically throwing themselves onto the nearest piece of furniture in the other’s line of sight after they graduated. At this point it’s more entertaining than anything else.

For Kira, she is definitely not immune to throwing herself dramatically onto things to get attention. (Or onto Artemis himself, much to Artemis’s annoyance and everyone else's amusement.) But, Artemis and Kira's nonverbal communication goes much deeper than that because they actually share a telepathic link and they can just sort of communicate through vibes for the most part, so they don't even have to say hi most of the time, they just know. (Technically Artemis and Phoenix have one of these too, but that one is more of a party line so it's more difficult to share those kinds of moments through telepathy alone.)

How do they show affection:

For Artemis, this might be a bit of an unpopular take but I do think that Artemis is a very touchy person. I think a lot of how Artemis shows affection is through physical contact, especially with his partner(s.) But I also think that Artemis is great with gifts as well. I think he’d like to make things for his friends a lot.

For Phoenix, I think her main thing would be acts of service. She’s not great with words, but she’d do anything for her friends.

For Robin, does lovingly bullying your friends count? No, but seriously, I think that Robin would be the absolute sweetest with compliments (and love flustering Artemis lol.) And, he also loves just spending time with people.
