MY CHALLENGE TO YOU…
I would like to share a random story with you in the hopes of that it will make a difference for you in the same way that it has for me.
The other day, I was doing a bike ride on my Peloton. My instructor challenged all of us riders to “say something nice about yourself” in her efforts to motivate us.
Only one thing immediately came to mind as I said out loud “I love you, Jake.” That’s not my name, but for the sake of anonymity and this story, call me Jake.
Once I said this, I started crying. I slowed down my cadence a bit in an attempt to compose myself. But during this moment, I repeated to myself several times “I love you, Jake” and I sobbed some more. But don’t feel bad for me - that is not my intent. These tears were liberating and this is now something that I make time for every single day.
This isn’t about arrogance or narcissism. I have always been my harshest critic and this will not change anytime soon. This is about showing up for yourself and for being your biggest supporter, because no one should be your biggest supporter in life more than yourself.
My challenge to you, and do this right now: I want you to say out loud “I love you, (insert your name here).” Say it as many times as necessary until you believe yourself. Allow yourself to be vulnerable and allow yourself to feel whatever emotions begin to flood your mind. It might hurt at first, but your shoulders will feel lighter, your mind will feel freer, and your heart will forgive you for whatever bullshit you are carrying around with you, ball and chain.
Please be kind to yourself and try this, and good luck.
@mariana-runs these are the bracelets I got!
Can you tell I’m low key obsessed with Robin lol 😂
Rewriting your story
Grab a piece of paper and pen.
List 5 of the best things that have ever happened to you. Happiest memories, accomplishments, people who make you smile.
Now do 5 of the worst things that have ever happened to you.
Can you see the interwoven story between these two sides?
For example, worst things I’ve been through have to be getting my heart wrecked and having a SA incident.
Best things?
Meeting my current boyfriend and going to therapy.
Now, in no way did I deserve the worst, there’s no meaning in them, there’s no way to sugarcoat them and make them into a positive when they were and continue to be the darkest, shittiest moments in my life. Because it happened, I was put into the worst suicidal depression in my life. I was angry, afraid, anxious. Had nothing and no one to turn to.
So I started therapy.
And that one step propelled me into a deeper understanding of myself and my psyche so that when I met I current boyfriend, I was able to accept the relationship. It also led me to my chosen career path. One I truly connect with that I love, that I want to engage in.
Not without hardship, not without breaking down, not without serious PTSD, but with the tools I needed, and continue to need, to be able to understand myself, communicate my needs, and accept the security provided.
In this way, I am able to rewrite the narrative I was feeding myself. By focusing on what I’ve accomplished and acknowledged the deadly parts of me, I can move forward in my life without shame, guilt, or regret.
The stories we tell ourselves are what we become. Make it a good one at least.
If it doesn't raise my vibration or my bank account balance, the answer is "no, thank you."

Save Peloton Broadway Series- 1
Save Peloton Broadway Series- 1
Do you remember Robin’s RENT ride on Peloton? Robin’s RENT ride was first released back, by Peloton, in March of 2016. 2016 seems like a very long time ago. It was a time before COVID, before anyone knew Wuhan existed. We were all so innocent in twenty-sixteen. I was so naive until Robin’s RENT ride was purged and COVID forced everything to shut down. My Season of Love turned into something…

I wake up around 6:30 or 7 a.m. and try to do some breathing exercises and meditation. I would love for that to be 20 minutes, but most mornings it’s five minutes or less. .... Then I’ll open my journal and try to get a handle on my day. I also jot down some gratitude and inspiration. I keep it really timely and specific — things that happened in the last 12 to 24 hours, not an endless list of everything in my life that I’m grateful for. It takes about two minutes.
Robin Arzón, head instructor and vice-president of fitness programming at Peloton
I had a pretty great walk this evening before a big dinner- I needed both after my workout today. Now I’m settling in early with a great book by an inspiring person. 😌
@mariana-runs if you haven’t read this yet, I highly recommend. 🔥
