Nasturtiums, Coquitlam BC -Rob604
Nasturtiums are an annual plant with bright, yellow-orange edible flowers and round green leaves that have a peppery taste. They grow very well in Coquitlam and the surrounding Vancouver area and Fraser Valley suburbs. They were very popular with local gardeners from the 1950s through to the 1990s. They are not as common today (2023) but people still grow them in their flower beds and in community gardens. They like to grow in full sun (3-6 hours of sunlight) ideally during March through May, but they can stay around through the summer till October if conditions are warm, but not too hot or too cold.
