Here’s a fun little program that would be good for up-and-coming screenwriters.  Attack of the Hollywood Clichés is a Netflix show and is hosted by Rob Low.  The documentary is about an hour long and it explains how many of these clichés came about, why they’re used so frequently, and how these clichés can sometimes be problematic. For instance, they talk about how, in romantic movies, when a guy follows a woman around (i.e. stalking her) it’s treated as cute.  Which is a problem in and of itself. However, there’s also a double standard because when a woman follows a man around, she’s portrayed as crazy or evil.  I will also say, for those who aren’t fond of documentaries, the show itself is very to tongue-in-cheek and is just as much about making fun of these clichés as it is explaining them.  It’s a great, quick show to watch when you have an hour to kill.

If that wasn't Rob Lowe in disguise as the creepy historian, that actor shares the exact same mannerisms as Chris Traeger.
