Gonna tackle two of the newer Soul Weavers now.

Starting with Roana, she is mainly there to be an SSB counter but is actually pretty good against all heroes who user counter attacks. C.Zerato for example, counters somewhat frequently, and while most people have him use the strip artifact, which means he would strip Roana’s revive buff, it still means that she heals the whole team and give them a CR buff which is overall more valuabe than a revive.

ML Ken is a weird case, since the dmg output of him fluctuates based on the gear people are running him with. There are some Kens that hit distressingly hard, so many DPS units will die before the heal kicks in, but usually speaking, more tanky units, especially if there is dmg mitigation via F.Ceci shield or Aurius, will survive the ML Ken counter and then get healed.

She also does really well against counter-Dizzy, but since Roana does nothing against debuffs, there is still a certain danger. But given that Dizzy’s dmg is rather low, Roana always heals a lot more than Dizzy inflicts on the team, Dizzy actually provides a lot of healing which can be taken advantage of by targeting Dizzy delibarately. Just need to keep in mind that she stuns with her S1 so a cleanser would help or having a lot of effect resistance.

Charles is actually a bad match-up. He strips the revive buff, and while the first counter atk triggers a heal, the second follow up attack does not and that’s where Charles’ dmg lies so a Charles can ruin your day as he usually does.

SSB is, of course, the unit that really makes Roana shine. She counters so frequently, that Roana’s heal actually completely mitigates the dmg she does. The danger there is, SSB’s S3 can apply the anti heal debuff which ruins Roana’s kit and similarly, the defense break can also make any healing moot. But if those debuffs are resistet, there isn’t really anything SSB can do at that point anymore. SO, over all, I am rather happy with her in the sitatuions I use her in. Mine is built rather tanky with a lot of HP, DEF and Effect Resistance. She is slow, unfortunately, but then again, she doesn’t really need much speed but of course, it wouldn‘t hurt. She is definitely worth building, seeing how prevalent SSB is.

I gaave her the CD reduction on her S3 and put +4 on her S2. She doesn’t really need more and I guess it is debetable whether she needs any mola at all. I am not going to put any more mola into her any time soon but I could see how maxing her to get all the healing and barrier strength could be useful. It is just a lot of mola for a hero that will not be that much better at that point.

Artifact wise, I like Shimadra staff to increase her healing and give her even more effect resistance but most Soul Weaver artifacts work for her, really.

Her design is a bit ... anime, unfortunately, but she is worth building still since she does something relatively unique in the game and that is be a hindrance to heroes with counter mechanics.

I was meh on elena at first but since then, I have considerably warmed up to her. She does so much work, it is amazing. I use her in expedition against Brutal Pherus for example, and she heals solidly there. But where she really shines is in PVP, especially against two very meta high level ML heroes, particularly in arena.

She is very useful, if not an outright counter of sorts, against Faithless Lidica and Arbiter Vildred. Faithless Lidica’s S2 is an AOE attack which triggers Elena’s S2, healing your team. Since FLidica’s S2 doesn’t do that much dmg, that isn’t really important. What is important is that if you have Magahara’s tome, Elena using her S2 gives her a CR boost. If your Elena is somewhat speedy, that means she cuts into the enemy turn, allowing you to use her S3, giving your whole team invincibility. Whatever attack FLidica wanted to facilitate is now rendered useless.  If you also have ML Ken, that really counters Arbiter Vildred since he then attacks your invincible ML Ken who then counters him to death, then tanks his second, even stronger attack after Arbiter’s revive and kills him again. You don’t need ML Ken on top of Elena to counter Arbiter but it is the easiest way, imo.

Since her S3 also does a miniscule amount of dmg, it is also perfect for removing the negate atk buff that FLidica or FCeci can apply.

Now, i have seen Elena on a counter set and yeah, I guess I can see how it could be useful to remove the occasional buff but I have to say, speedy Elena with Magahara just seems a lot better.

Another convenient thing with Elena is that she doesn’t really require a lot of molas or amazing gear. Mine has decent health and def, not really any effect resistance and not even her speed is that fast. I will grant that there have been one or two moments where the 30% CR boost was not enough to cut in because the enemy team was just that fast but it is not hard to build a faster Elena than mine.  I put mola to reduce the CD of her S3 and 4 into her dmg reduction S2. It would be worth maxing her S2 since more dmg reduction is always good but it is also not necessarily. Strictly speaking, she doesn’t really need any mola for PVP purposes, since it is rare that a match goes long enough to get to a second use of her S3.
