He would have sought Brienne out right after the trial but as he watched her walking away he happened upon the three eyed raven and there were things to discuss.

Later when he’s catching up with Tyrion he hears her voice and looks for her then literally walks out on his little brother mid conversation. 

And Brienne oh Brienne can clearly pick up on the very romantic undertones of their conversation and has no idea how to react to it. It turns into bickering of the best kind. It ends with Jaime sincerely pledging himself to her. After all these years of Brienne offering her service and life to others, this man comes all this way to pledge his life to her. Again, it’s a lot for her so she walks away leaving Jaime looking like a kicked puppy.

Moving along Jaime having drinks with Tyrion reminiscing about their past ... And again Jaime hears Brienne as she walks in and scrambles to his feet. “Oh! ... My lady.”. He brings her a chair before she can run away again and offers it and his company so sweetly. “Join us.” And of course he makes sure she sits beside him.
