「 high notes galore 」
a starter for @rkxkjd
he had wanted to challenge himself-- but to think he was bold enough to ask for the part that had impressive high notes. that felt outside of his own reach right now? sure-- he wanted to improve and the only way to do so was practicing but jaehyun was not ready for these vocal parts buthe wanted to be able to do them.
“what do i do...” he wrinkled hi nose as he tried to figure out what on earth he should do with himself-- then while listening the song again he thought of jongdae, someone he admired when it came to vocal ability.
“maybe,” he thought and quickly started typing up a couple messages. he knew the older had been busy, university was like that.

* Evaluation Plot Call *
Ok!! This evaluation Minhee wants to do Katie Lee’s Bad Girls there is a twist to this!! She wants to do it with two other girls dressed in the classic Gotham Sirens; Harley, Ivy, Catwoman-- The concept is about rebellion and being different. Minhee is classic good girl person so this would be very different some usual persona. She is quite happy being any of these roles expect Harley since whoever Harley will doing a sing-rap part of the song. Whoever takes the Ivy role would have to dance and nearly kiss Harley too. Catwoman would have most lines out of the song since she will be the center of the routine.
Line Distribution For The Song.
Harley: Free
Catwoman: Naeun ( @rkxsnn )
Ivy: Minhee
Minhee will pick the one which is free at the end of the day ♥

he had actually planned to perform one of his own songs since he had been singing for the last two evaluations and therefore had asked yongsun to fill the spot of the female singer. the two of them had proved to have a good harmony during their last performance together and as he liked the tone of her voice, gray had immediately thought of the female singer when picking out a melancholic piece from his selection of songs. but after checking the requirements with the coaches once again, he had realized how his song wouldn’t give space for a dance choreography. it was a little disappointing, since gray felt like performing original songs during evaluations was the only way to let them out at the moment, but it couldn’t be helped.
finding another song though proved to be rather difficult, as in containing a choreography to learn and to have an appropriate amount of singing and rap lines. this time around he wanted to rap again, it was his number one skill after all. sometimes people seemed to forget that he is originally a rapper before being a producer and composer and he was here to show them.
the older man sat down next to yongsun who had picked out a few songs. he let out a sigh, scratching the back of his head. "by the way... apart from the song we need to choose, did you think of wearing a costume?"

normally, nayeon wasn’t one to ask others for help if she didn’t feel like she absolutely had to— despite the trust and faith she had in those around her, all of good heart and probably willing to lend a helping hand if she was to ask, there was something about possibly making herself an unnecessary burden to others that left an odd, unpleasant taste on the tip of her tongue.
now, however, stuck standing in front of a practice room mirror with a tired and somewhat annoyed expression ( something she was sure would surprise others ), she can’t get the thought out of her mind that maybe now was a time to concede and reach out.
at least luck seemed to be on her side, eyes catching sight of familiar black hair as she steps into the hall, and her eyes light up immediately.
“ah, sia!” she calls out before she thinks, bounding over to the other woman with something of a skip to her step. she stops with a small jump before the other, a small frown on her lips. “are you busy right now? if you are, that’s alright, but i wanted to ask if you’d come watch me run through my routine for this month's evaluation? it feels like i’m not...getting it quite right, so i wanted a second opinion.”

split time.
@taeminrk
tiny screams of protest pulse up and down his muscles as sungho stretches them out, exhaling deeply and leaning even further into the stretch. his muscles scream more, but it’s a pleasant sort of burn. he’s afraid of injury lately more than ever, a little ironic considering he only recently got a cast removed from his hand, but something like a torn muscle or sprained ankle could be the death of his career. he’s seen it happen not once but twice now, both trainees evicted from the same company, and although it was not his own he’d rather not give katie lee any other excuses to want to get rid of him.
he’s frustrated. it has nothing to do with his flexibility or warmups, but it’s been lingering around him ever since the trainees starting breaking off into groups for this month’s evaluation. taemin is a good performer, sungho will give him that even if they don’t get along more often than not, and he wasn’t totally opposed to having him in his group. what he is opposed to, however, is how the senior trainee seems to think it’s a bright fucking idea to split his time between two full evaluation groups. it’s hubris at best, or a total fucking detriment to both teams at the worst. sungho has never been an optimist.
a click of a door knob opening. sungho knows who it is without looking up, because who else is running up the habit of being consistently late to practice? and not even a couple minutes late, but hours late. all because lee taemin just has to be in two groups at once. sungho wonders hat the fuck possessed him. greed? indecision? sungho could’ve made the decision real fucking easy for him; if he had known that taemin was going to split his time like this he wouldn’t have wanted him in his group from the beginning.
“look who decided to show up,” he grumbles, loud enough for taemin to hear but low enough that it might’ve been intended to be one of those quiet personal complaints he’s so fond of. but not now. right now, sungho wants to pick a fight. he thinks this is stupid, it’s dangerous to both teams, and taemin’s being really fucking selfish with the way he’s carrying this out. just what is his motivation??
After a catchy and summery batch of new songs idol groups released through the past season that were the perfect soundtrack for your Summer break and outdoor activitivies, as refreshing as a delicious pink lemonade, now it’s time for heavier sounds and intriguing and mysterious concepts to come out and grace your playlist.
With all the different concepts an idol can face in the future as one of the companies attempts to bring something new to the table of a saturated industry, versatility is the key, so it would be a trainee’s best interest to be able to pull off different styles even if some diverge from their favorite or natural image – the best example of it being Eclipse with their day & night concept. This month, they are instructed by the coaches to pick a song to perform at the end of the month that contrasts with the refreshing sensation Summer tracks gave them and make it as addictive.
The options are vast and they don’t need to limit themselves to spooky-horror style, though it’s also welcome. Whether it’s rock genre or they want to go for gothic, cyberpunk or vampire aesthetics, whether it’s sexy or rebellious, impactful or melancholic, it’s up to the groups to decide what they want to explore and what suits them best. It’s a full performance, so it should include choreography (unless it’s a band) and at least 80% of the vocals should be done live. Coaches will be waiting for them in one of Seocho’s practice rooms on October 31st for evaluations and trainees are allowed to form groups with people from different companies.
In order to collect +2 POINTS TO DISTRIBUTE AS YOU WISH and +2 DEBUT POINTS, write 250+ words solo or a four-post thread with another trainee involving the preparations for this month’s evaluation. For +3 POINTS IN A RELEVANT SKILL, +2 DEBUT POINTS and +1WK RELEVANT ACHIEVEMENT, write one 300+ words solo about your muse’s performance for this month’s evaluation. Please tag all your posts with #rkoct19eval and have them up by midnight EST at the end of Thursday, October 31st. Threads may be continued after the deadline, but points can only be collected if the requirements are met before it.

he understands the idea of having the type of music an idol group puts out correlate to the seasons. after all, it happens across many different platforms---fashion, television, school---and so he knows it's necessary to be able to pull each concept off at least a little believably. he doesn't have a problem with that at all.
what he does have a problem with is that no matter what the concept or season is, the choreography always has to be so god damn difficult. from the second he'd decided this was the path he wanted to take, he'd always known that dancing would play some part in this journey, but he never understood quite how much, and just how hard it would be for him to learn and train his body to be able to pull off choreography in a manner that was neither painful to even look at, nor a hindrance to the group's cohesion. two whole years training, and he still has difficulty getting things just past that passable threshold.
but that doesn't mean he doesn't put in the time. in fact, it only means he puts in even more time, especially for choreography like this that has so much movement that it's hard for him to keep track of. (several times during the month, he wonders what he was thinking signing up for a song like this, but he can't go back on his word or let his group down). it takes him almost the entire month to look just barely presentable, and at this point, that's really all he can ask for.
somehow, though, he doesn't think the coaches will think the same.
