like i don't mind that wriolette are like the most wholesome couple in genshin, thematically its nice and just characterization wise i agree they just would not have a conflict with each other. but like you can have interesting situations without arguments.
i actually really liked their scenes in prev lantern rite, where they keep misunderstanding each other, rizzller is just ???? confused for most of the convo, but also its obv that they are both going out of their ways to be nice to each other and they trust implicitly that the other one is talking in good faith. like neuvi not understanding human economy and tbh, not caring to understand, getting scammed to buy shitton of tea boxes and then giving most of them to rizzler bc he knows rizzley likes tea, so more tea the better, right? and rizzler just going along, like its completely normal thing to receive an industrial amount of tea boxes and hand-made stone codex that neuvi made in his pottery class as a reference to an old joke. i think this kind of mutual unconditional acceptance is one of the best parts of their dynamic and it can be explored more
and then this storyline was continued in birthday letters, where its like neuvi asking rizzler if he's finished the tea yet, bc he has no idea whats actual like. normal amount of tea humans drink daily, he's operating kind of on "if you like the thing, you will consume a lot of it quickly" logic, so he expects rizzler to drink the tea quickly if he likes it. and here actually comes a point of tension, which is that rizzler, due to his past traumas and how highly he values neuvi and how frankly self-loathing he is, instead of explaining that tea is not something you drink like a box a day even if you like it, doesn't want to contradict neuvi even in smth so small, so he starts drinking tea so much, it actually threatens his health and sigewinne has to limit him
so we have this interesting dynamic where the problems in relationship come not from clashing personalities or arguments, bc they like and respect each other so much, and they align in all like ideological and operational stuff so well after years of working together, but from just innate physiological and cultural differences that they just literally cannot know about each other, but because they are so nice to each other, they would just not confront each other with them.
and like its already in the game, all i described is canon, i just wish they developed it further. like this neuvi outfit quest was perfect for that tbh, bc there was a theme of people who love each other, but struggle to communicate and understand bc of their differences, like neuvi and melusines who call him "ideal father", but bc they are not normal dragons, they were born of collision primordial waters, human tech and abyssal dragon, neuvi struggles to know what they like and how to express himself to them, but he goes out of his way to make an effort. and then we have Pahsiv, a hydro vishap who shapeshifts into a melusine form and can speak a bit of human language, but not great, so humans and melusines struggle to understand her, but neuvi immediately gets her and can tell others what she'd like bc she is one of his original kind. and they all come together and have a feast where Pahsiv is provided raw seafood that she likes to eat bc she doesn't like human food.
like its so easy to tie in rizzler situation into it, esp bc we meet neuvi in chenyu vale and he talks about buing tea again. just have rizzler here from the start and make him reluctantly explain that he appreciates neuvi's gift, but he actually cannot physically consume so much tea. maybe have a lil scene beforehand with him and sigewinne in liyue harbor talking about how he needs to be honest with neuvi, bc right now they say literally nothing interesting there. and ofc neuvi is not mad, he's like oh, i'm sorry, dear wrio, in dra... i mean my culture, giving huge gifts is a sign of appreciation, i didn't realize it was too much. then he gifts rizzler collar and a laesh let yaoi have kinks on screen like yuri do
And then they have a dinner all together, btw whoever wrote current quest is a fraud, it was a huge plot point in meropide that sigewinne was trying to feed purple gross meat to people bc of how differently she saw it, melusines should not be eating human food. the table should be like. purple goo for melusines, raw seafood for Pahsiv, neuvi basically only consumes water and soups, and some normal human food for traveler, rizzler and paimon. with the idea of like its okay that we are all different, we should not have to assimilate and hide our preferences just to appease others even if we love them, we should strive to accommodate everyone equally
