I’m changing the way I sign my name on things. I hardly ever go by ‘Rivka’ anymore except amongst family; online and in day to day life I’m pretty much exclusively known as ‘Wesley’, so I’d like my signature to reflect that. But I don’t want to lose the first part of my name, so I will start abbreviating it to just ‘R.’ in the future. :)

What I will draw:  Original characters, fanart of book/movie/tv/comic characters, illustrated scenes, icons, slash art, etc. Nudes are fine. Sexy things are fine! (I will not draw anything super explicit unless I know you beforehand, sorry!) Non-human characters or figures are fine. 

  What I will NOT draw: Anything that directs hate towards a person or group of people; anything I find to be an ethical or legal violation; your Very Specific Fetish™, unless we have discussed it beforehand; or anything that makes me uncomfortable.

I know, right?! It's confusing for me too sometimes. :((

I don't have a concrete rule for when I go by masculine or feminine pronouns or when I call myself one name or the other. I generally use whatever feels less wrong in the moment, if that makes sense? #genderfluidproblems

They are both my real names, in as much as they were given to me by my parents and I am comfortable with both of them. "Rivka" is the Hebrew variation on my given name, and I've been using it since I was 9 years old, and "Wesley" is the name I would have been given at birth had I been defined male at birth. (True story!: When I was first starting to come out as queer and non-binary, my dad told me the story of how they wanted to name me Wesley after a family friend, and I immediately adopted it. My parents recognize me by both names, because they are rad like that.) 

I do have some guidelines for name and pronoun usage for myself that may be helpful to you if you're not sure how to refer to me!:

1) When I'm "Wesley", I am generally phasing masculine. When I am "Rivka" I am generally phasing feminine, or gender-neutral.  (How I am dressed in a given day is NOT a reliable indicator as to what my gender is).

2) New friends and acquaintances are encouraged to call me Wesley! Childhood  friends and family can call me "Rivka" whenever they want.   RULE OF THUMB: You can always default to "Wesley". I will always respond and it will almost never feel wrong to me.  My boyfriend calls me Wesley! It's got good associations. 

4) In my capacity as an artist, I use "Rivka" or "RivkaZ".  This is for convenience and because it's usually true that while I'm thinking of myself as an artist, I lean towards gender-neutral/female. I also go by "Rivka" in the workplace, because I don't have the spoons or the time to deal with explaining non-binary gender issues with coworkers who don't give a shit. 

5) If I start a conversation or post referring to myself one way, it's always safe follow suit!  If we start a conversation and you notice me un-subtly start calling myself a different name/pronoun, it's usually because I've started feeling uncomfortable with the alternative. 

That's basically what it boils down to: the name and gender that seems to fit and makes me most comfortable. 

TL;DR:  If that's too much to keep up with, just call me Wesley!  :)
