If you’re into hot rods, muscle cars, racing cars, or just plain old restored cars and trucks than mark April 7th on your calendar. That’s opening day for the 48th annual event. This year however promises to be an event all on it’s own. Readers of Adrenaline’s Klassic Plus may recall that the Piston Poppers were responsible for starting the show back in the early ‘60s before selling it to Jacques Picard (See Issue #1). Picard and has carried the hot rodding torch in our provincial capital for decades, fighting changing trends and slow times to still give us one of the best car shows in the province.
Well Jacques has decided to hang up his show promoter hat and sold the show to Martin D’Anjou. D’Anjou has proven his mettle in the automotive circles already as promoter of the Festi-Drag races. And judging by the buzz, Martin is not resting on Mr. Picard’s laurels having already expanded the show’s footprint by about 30% over previous years.
He’s also booked ex-Quebecer, and renown Canadian builder and Ridler Award Winner JF Launier (see Klassic Plus #2 & #3) is bringing three cars to the show including Rivision, the jaw dropping Buick Riviera that stole the show in Detroit in 2014 and continues to do so wherever it appears.
The show runs from April 7th to the 9th, so set your sights for Quebec City on the second weekend of April, and come by the Adrenaline booth to say hi. You just might catch JF.
