I woke up today, determined to transplant my kale outside into the garden, and to plant broccoli into the field next to the river, which I've been allowed to do by the plant lady. So, the plan was, put the plants in the bucket, take them out, plant them, use the bucket to get water, water them, success.

Community garden had installed the water pump overnight, and that made me so happy. I had enough water to plant my kale, water the strawberries, water the rest of the garden, and plant extra peas! Pro tip, if it's very dry and sunny outside, and you're sowing or planting something, water it while it's in the hole, then cover with dry soil! That way, the surface of the soil won't get turned into tough cement after being sun-dried, and your plants will be safe and watered underground.

First part of the plan went excellent, so I proceeded to bike to the field next to the river, to plant broccoli. After I had put the plants in, I peeked to the riverside, and found it was a very steep, very slippery riverbank, unsafe to walk on. I was there to get water for my plants tho, so I took it on.

And now you're thinking, well don't tell me you fell into the river—of course I fell into the river. But that's not the funny part. I didn't fall all the way in, my legs only got wet, and I wasn't terribly bothered by that, it was not my first time being out with wet feet. The funny part was when I looked around for a better place to grab some water – my glasses fell into the river. I watched them sink with horror, worried the river was going to carry them away. They sank to the bottom.

Well, I wasn't gonna leave them. And I wasn't gonna use my brain either – I headed into the water immediately. I didn't check how deep it was – I was even surprised when my muscles got all frozen, because apparently they didn't expect, for some reason, to find themselves in cold water that day. I remembered to take a deep breath, got my muscles to move again. I was in the water well above my waist, and almost dove in, before realizing I could push the glasses up with my feet, then catch them with hands. The glasses were saved!

I got out, fell down three times on my way up, watered the plants, and found the cold water improved my mood immensely! It felt so good, gave me an adrenaline boost, I was happy! I was on my way home, wet as a frog, and then, some of my braincells were activated again, and informed me that I had my phone in the pants pocket, THE ENTIRE TIME. The poor thing was oozing water and turned off when I touched it. I was still in such good mood I barely cared. I stuffed it in a bag of soy (didn't have rice) and left it on the top of the radiator. Was the phone saved? You will be able to tell. Does this post have any pictures in it? If it does, it means I retrieved them from my working phone. If not, ah well. It was sacrificed to a good cause and I stand by it.
